甲骨文在收購 仁科 ( Peoplesoft )與 艾德華 ( J.D.Edward )之後，應用程式產品線一口氣擴增，尤在台灣中小企業上，艾德華的製造業、傳產和流通、建築業等等都已有既存客戶；而人力資源(HR)、客戶關係管理(CRM)都是仁科的主力；再加上甲骨文既有產品，甲骨文台灣區總經理吳昇奇日前說，隨著產品逐漸整合，甲骨文的未來更是不可限量。

現今企業談的是Day-to-day的競爭

隨著 甲骨文 ( Oracle )計畫併入第14家業者，甲骨文也針對其 融合專案 (Project  Fusion )發布最新消息：未來甲骨文將成為平台(Platform)供應商，並將加強與各獨立軟體開發商間的合作。

融合專案最早始於甲骨文併購仁科之後，當時為了整併內部的商業軟體，而開始了該項專案。而融合專案，簡單來說可從三大方向為圭臬，分別為架構融合(Fusion Architecture)、中介軟體認證融合(Fusion Middleware Certification)以及應用程式融合(Fusion Appilication)。

「未來Fusion將不再以專案形式出現，而是未來甲骨文標準化平台的代表。」

甲骨文又宣布將以2.2億美元現金也就是每股4.9美元現金的代價，收購發展通訊及媒體公司收費及營收管理產品的Portal軟體公司

Portal軟體公司所研發的產品，可以協助通訊及媒體公司收費的流程，並管理包含有線/無線電話、寬頻、有線電視、VOIP、IP電視、音樂以及影視等多種服務。甲骨文表示，收購Portal軟體之後，將把該公司產品整合至甲骨文從Siebel所獲得的 ERP 應用程式及 CRM 軟體中。甲骨文最終的期望是在整合這些產品之後，可以擴及原有Portal軟體在媒體及通訊公司的領域到達其他產業

除了收購資料庫引擎業者 Sleepycat與Innobase公司外，還收購在零售產業的Retek公司以及提供財務服務的i-flex公司。除了積極收購公司外，甲骨文今年的重大任務之一也是整合自仁科及 Siebel 收購的ERP及CRM至本身的資料庫產品中。

甲骨文卻獨獨在CRM市場缺席，為加緊擴充其商軟的版圖，甲骨文藉由併購動作以強化本身產品線的不足。透過收購Siebel的動作，甲骨文可立即成為 CRM 市場的主要業者，同時也可從Siebel獲得分析應用程式領域的know-how

又開始展開併購的大動作。資料庫大廠甲骨文於本週二宣布併購 Sleepycat 軟體公司，完成合併後，Sleepycat旗下的開放原始碼資料庫系統 Berkeley  DB將被納入甲骨文的可嵌入式資料庫產品線，其中包含供行動裝置使用的Oracle Lite以及供資料庫應用程式使用的Oracle TimesTen。

資料庫管理系統，英文名Database management system (DBMS) 是為管理資料庫而設計的電腦軟體系統。具有代表性的數據管理系統有：Oracle、 Microsoft SQL Server、MySQL及FileMaker等。通常資料庫管理員會使用資料庫管理系統來建立資料庫系統。
