Cut Calories And Lose Weight | Cat Walk Diet - 0 views

  • Losing weight is a life style change if you intend to lose it just once and keep it off!  Fad diets and crash diets can take off weight in a very short period of time.  But keep in mind that usually you end up gaining back all the weight you lost plus a few bonus pounds.  They are also very hard on your body and can lead to heath problems down the road

How much of your personality is defined through your zodiac sign? Many people believe in astrology and follow their everyday lives according to their horoscopes. I personally believe that astrology is mostly accurate when it comes to people's personalities and the problems they will face in the future or their successes. The way your zodiac sign is described may not be exactly your own personality because there are other personalities around you that shape the kind of person you are as well. Zodiac signs are assigned according to your birthday and determines what kind of person you are. Two people are exactly the same so obvious there will be differences among people with the same birthdays mostly, because of their environments. But, the basis of their personalities can be told from their zodiac signs.

The Best and Worst Zodiac Combination on Relationships - 1 views

  •
I'm learning more about zodiac signs right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: How much of your personality is defined through your zodiac sign? I was researching this question online, and this blog post caught my attention because of it's title. I could tell it would describe which pair of zodiac signs are the most compatible depending on their personalities. "The following pairings are just guides, no matter what sign you are, it is still up to both of you on how to cultivate and maintain a harmonious relationship with one another. " The quote I chose here is basically saying this page is almost like advice or a warning for the readers to learn more about zodiac sign compatibility. This may vary depending on how much personalities are changed by their environment. It isn't impossible for a Leo and Pisces to have a stable relationship but according to the article, it'll be very difficult for them. I think this is interesting because the future of a relationship can be determined just by zodiac signs of the partners. It makes me wonder if two zodiac signs who are known to be the most compatible could have struggles or an end to their relationship. The commitment of both partners matters too which can be determined by zodiac signs as well. It says Taurus and Scorpio are one of the best combination in relationships. It says "Though sometimes it can be rough, Scorpio brings out the best motivation for Tauruses whenever they encounter any failure and hardships. Scorpios are compassionate for Tauruses and gives them a feeling of security." I believe this is true from the experience I've had. From what is described in this article is almost exactly what I'm facing with a close person in my life who is a Taurus. I am a Scorpio and since our signs are almost opposites, we balance out each other and build a good relationship; Scorpio is a fire sign and Taurus is a water sign.
  •
I find zodiac signs interesting too. im a taurus and i feel that taurus & Aries are one of the best signs in the zodiac. Those two signs put together are pretty much unstopable if they get together even if they say that they dont go together

this is important because in real life, this is happening! or at least scientists think so.
  • The film briefly references Mayanism, the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, and the 2012 phenomenon in its portrayal of cataclysmic events unfolding in the year 2012.
    • Alexa EWSIS

heres what this is saying. its saying that on the mayan calender, 0n 2012, it says that the worlds will end.
  • Because of solar flare bombardment the Earth's core begins heating up at an unprecedented rate, eventually causing crustal displacement. This results in an onslaught of Doomsday event scenarios plunging the world into chaos, ranging from California falling into the Pacific Ocean, the eruption of the Yellowstone National Park caldera, massive earthquakes, and Megatsunami impacts along every coast line on the Earth.

  • The film received mixed to negative reviews from film critics. Rotten Tomatoes reports that 39% of critics gave the film a positive review based on 210 reviews.[36] Critics cited numerous scientific inaccuracies, lazy script and heavy reliance on the CG visuals, while some praised the CG effects. On its "top critics" section, it fared even lower with 27% of critics giving it a positive review based on 33 reviews.[37] At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the film holds an average/mixed score of 49 based on 34 reviews.[38]

Smoking Side Effects - 3 Smoking Hazards and a List of Illnesses Brought about by the Vice - 4 views

I been researching about smoking and its effects. There are a lot of effects and they are terrible. One of them is "Cancer of the lungs, troubles in the respiratory system as well as heart diseases are only few of the illnesses you can obtain from constantly smoking cigarette. These hazards of smoking are intensifying every year." People should stop smoking especially for their love ones. My grandpa smokes and I dont like seeing him do that. I tell him everytime to stop but he doesnt listen and the reason is because he is addicted to it. This is the biggest effect of smoking , is that you can get addicted to it and its hard for one to stop. There are help for people who wants to quit but sometimes its hard.

Insomnia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - 1 views

  • Insomnia is typically followed by functional impairment while awake.
    • Paul Allison

So this is saying that when you don't sleep at night you often get hurt the next day.
    • CorrineA EWSIS

I guess this is saying that if you are not usually asleep when you normally would be, you are less attentive. You could bump into something or hurt your foot etc. When you are between being awake and being asleep that can also damage you in the morning.
  • Insomnia is a symptom[1] which can accompany of any of several sleep, medical and psychiatric disorders, characterized by persistent difficulty falling asleep and/or staying asleep despite the opportunity.
    • CorrineA EWSIS

It's important because knowing what insomnia is helps to figure out what sleepless night are and why they occur.
  • According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services in the year 2007, approximately 64 million Americans regularly suffer from insomnia each year.[3] Insomnia is 1.4 times more common in women than in men.[4]
    • CorrineA EWSIS

  • Transient insomnia lasts from days to weeks. It can be caused by another disorder, by changes in the sleep environment, by the timing of sleep, severe depression, or by stress. Its consequences - sleepiness and impaired psychomotor performance - are similar to those of sleep deprivation.[5]
    • CorrineA EWSIS

this helps to know the different types of insomia so in case you come across sleepless nights then you can figure out what your symtoms may be
  • Acute insomnia is the inability to consistently sleep well for a period of between three weeks to six months.[6]
    • CorrineA EWSIS

This type of insomnia is not very long but is is alarming to those who can't get a good night's sleep for months.
  • Chronic insomnia lasts for years at a time. It can be caused by another disorder, or it can be a primary disorder. Its effects can vary according to its causes. They might include sleepiness, muscular fatigue, hallucinations, and/or mental fatigue; but people with chronic insomnia often show increased alertness. Some people that live with this disorder see things as though they were happening in slow motion, wherein moving objects seem to blend together. Can cause double vision.[5]
    • CorrineA EWSIS

Is there more to this because I wonder how long chronic insomnia can go on.
    • CorrineA EWSIS

      Does chronic mean consistantly?
  • In many cases, insomnia is caused by another disease, side effects from medications, or a psychological problem.
    • CorrineA EWSIS

What types of diseases cause mild sleepless nights?
  • Many insomniacs rely on sleeping tablets and other sedatives to get rest. All sedative drugs have the potential of causing psychological dependence where the individual cannot psychologically accept that they can sleep without drugs[citation needed].
    • CorrineA EWSIS

What types of sedatives can give you psychological diseases?
    • CorrineA EWSIS

Are sedatives harmful to you nervous system?
  • Restless Legs Syndrome can cause insomnia due to the discomforting sensations felt and need to move the legs or other body parts to relieve these sensations. It is difficult if not impossible to fall asleep while moving.
  • Some antidepressants such as amitriptyline, doxepin, mirtazapine, and trazodone can often have a very strong sedative effect, and are prescribed off label to treat insomnia.[33] The major drawback of these drugs is that they have antihistaminergic, anticholinergic and antiadrenergic properties which can lead to many side effects. Some also alter sleep architecture.
    • CorrineA EWSIS

I think that these are important because they are partly the reason why some people have sleepless nights. Also because these are anti-depressants and they are the laeding cause of sleepless nights which answers part of my question
  • The antihistamine diphenhydramine is widely used in nonprescription sleep aids such as Tylenol PM, with a 50 mg recommended dose mandated by the FDA. In the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and other countries, a 25 mg to 50 mg recommended dose is permitted.
    • CorrineA EWSIS

Why is this relevant to the treatment?
  • Cyproheptadine is a useful alternative to benzodiazepine hypnotics in the treatment of insomnia. Cyproheptadine may be superior to benzodiazepines in the treatment of insomnia because cyproheptadine enhances sleep quality and quantity whereas benzodiazepines tend to decrease sleep quality.
    • CorrineA EWSIS

What these two sentences are saying is that Cyproheptadine way better then benzodiazepines in the treatment of insomnia.

Peripheral neuropathy describes damage to the peripheral nerves, the vast communications network that transmits information from the brain and spinal cord to every other part of the body. Among the many the causes of peripheral neuropathy are neurotoxins such as gold chloride, they produce common symptoms including weakness, numbness, paresthesia (abnormal sensations such as burning, tickling, pricking or tingling) and pain in the arms, hands, legs and/or feet. A large number of cases are of unknown cause." this is one of the worse case scenario for someone like me who completely rely on my grip and strength for my hands and legs and what i dont understand is how they could sell a product that did this to people without proper research and conduct to prevent this where as the goldmeso's product is supposr to be pure and help promote mental focus and fine motor skills which is great for me but im still a bit nervous on getting it because of what gold chloride did to people and goldmeso's is still made of of gold particles just more refined and more surface area so the option is still shaky to me

  • RoSE’s answer is that people seeking knowledge do not necessarily want to go to either a document (a “document-centric” approach) or a person (a “social- network” approach) as their first point of access—though they will take either.  More ideal is an online environment that allows them to seek out documents and people in the context of relationships between the two (e.g., of authorship, reception, affiliation, recommendation, sponsorship, commentary, rebuttal, etc.).

I'm liking this definition, and having two different questions push their way in: 1) How will RoSE deal with the walled-garden aspect of much of academic resources? 2) Can game theory be blended with such a social environment? (crazy thought)

Help For Shopaholics Stop Compulsive Shopping - 0 views

  •
Have you ever felt like you need to go shopping and shopping everyday until you brought everything you wanted? Something that I have been interested in learning more about has been Shopaholics. I remember seeing this movie last year that made me wonder about people who are Shopaholics. Lately, the issue has caught my eye again. I know that many people feel that being Shopaholic is really bad because it damages your living style. From what I have heard, being Shopaholic isn't something bad. It's just a way of being. You just shop and shop. It's not like if you creating a crime. I know that it's like a sickness that can't make you stop. But if it's really affecting your life then you have to give that up. For example, I heard that Shopaholic is more like able to be out of control. Shopping does not only effect the shopper it also effects family members, spouses, loved ones and friends. Many times married over active spenders will be divorced and in debt before they can control their spending habits. Now that's just what I've heard, it may or may not be true. One thing that I know for sure about is that Shopaholics do suffer a lot when it comes to money. Many Shopaholics end up having a big amount of budget. And I also know that Compulsive shopping is a serious condition that affects thousands of people's lives in America. Another fact that I know is that one major key to successfully overcoming compulsive shopping is simply taking responsibility for ones own actions. Stop denying the problem and or blaming others. Shopaholics who truly want help need to say enough is enough. Once a shopaholic realizes that shopping is just not worth the troubles that are caused from shopping excessively things get much easier. Make the decision to change and change will come. Now I've studied my share of Philosophy, and I believe that if being a Shopaholic damages your life... then you should make a change to take that out of your life. Personally, it's funny to me

What Causes Overeating?: A Discussion of Food and Environmental Factors Affecting Intake - 0 views

  • Atmospheric factors include things such as lighting and noise level. Different research studies demonstrate that soft or dimmed lighting encourages longer eating duration and increased food intake, by promoting an atmosphere of comfort, encouraging dinners to stay longer and order an extra drink or dessert. Additionally, soft music tends to favor a slower eating pace, longer meal duration and a higher consumption of both food and drink.
  • Studies describe that meals eaten with others are larger than when eaten alone.
  • Being aware of food and environmental factors that influence one’s food intake is a first step to fight back and reduce their pull.
