  • War is also a cultural entity, and its practice is not linked to any single type of political organization or society.
    • Taeil Eric EWSIS

War wasn't created by government or society.
  • In the organised military sense, a group of combatants and their support is called an army on land, a navy at sea, and an air force in the air.
    • Taeil Eric EWSIS

The troops on land are called armies, navy on the seas, and air force in the sky.
  • War is not limited to the human species; Ants engage in massive intra-species conflicts which might be termed warfare, and chimpanzee packs will engage each other in tribe like warfare.

War is universal and even animals have war.

  • As the strategic and tactical aspects of warfare are always changing, theories and doctrines relating to warfare are often reformulated before, during, and after every major war.

If warfare tactics change, will the weapons change also?
  • War is a reciprocated, armed conflict between two or more non-congruous entities, aimed at reorganising a subjectively designed, geo-politically desired result.

Is war the best way to resolve a problem between two or more sides?
  • A civil war is a war between factions of citizens of one country (such as in the American Civil War), or else a dispute between two nations that were created out of one formerly-united country. A proxy war is a war that results when two powers use third parties as substitutes for fighting each other directly.
    • Taeil Eric EWSIS

There are different types of war.
  • A military campaign includes not only fighting but also intelligence, troop movements, supplies, propaganda, and other components.
    • Taeil Eric EWSIS

War is not all about just killing, it involves strategies too.
  • War is not necessarily considered to be the same as occupation, murder, or genocide because of the reciprocal nature of the violent struggle, and the organized nature of the units involved.
    • Taeil Eric EWSIS

War makes a war, a war?
  • Motivations for war may be different for those ordering the war than for those undertaking the war.
    • Taeil Eric EWSIS

Do two countries have to agree if they want to go to war with each other?
  • Any case, the most important motivation to war is, in several ways, the imperialism
    • Taeil Eric EWSIS

Imperialism can be one of the most important moivations for war.

Nursing ethics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - 0 views

  • The nature of nursing means that nursing ethics tends to examine the ethics of caring rather than 'curing' by exploring the relationship between the nurse and the person in care.
    • Rachel EWSIS

What this is saying is becoming a nurse instead of curing for the person you have to care for them.
  • The focus of nursing ethics is on developing a caring relationship
    • Rachel EWSIS

This is important because, if the nurses don't care then in my opinon i don't think that they will pick this career choice. Also if you don't have a caring relationship then, the patients won't really open up to their nurses.
  • This is where information about the person is only shared with others after permission of the person, unless it is felt that the information must be shared to comply with a higher duty such as preserving life. [5].
    • Rachel EWSIS

I think that this is interesting because, i wonder if nurses do talk about the patients business. If i were a nurses patients i wouldn't want them telling my business unless it was necessary.
  • ...5 more annotations...
  • Nursing ethics shares many principles with medical ethics, such as beneficence, non-maleficence and respect for autonomy
    • Rachel EWSIS

I wonder why some nurses sret up a list of laws for themselves? Aren't they given a set of rules or laws already?!
  • This is considered by its advocates to focus more on relationships than principles and therefore to reflect the caring relationship in nursing more accurately than other ethical views.
    • Rachel EWSIS

I think caring about the relationships more than the principles is good because, the principles don't get you to a point where you could bound with the person and in my opinion i think that being a nurse you connect with the person on a professsional and emotional level.
  • People are then enabled to make decisions about their own treatment.
    • Rachel EWSIS

I think that it's important for people to make their own decisions wether or not they want the treatment because, what if their family doesn't have enough mom to pay for it or they on't have insurance. Usually depending upon the situation like lets say if it's really bad then the person won't take the treatment if they are close to dying.
  • There is a balance between people having the information required to make an autonomous decision and, on the other hand, not being unnecessarily distressed by the truth.
    • Rachel EWSIS

I wonder why sometimes people aren't able to handle tghe trhuth when they hear bad news about their health?!
  • This is because nursing theory seeks a collaborative relationship with the person in care.
    • Rachel EWSIS

  • The first scholarly theories of myth appeared during the second half of the 19th century.[46] In general, these 19th-century theories framed myth as a failed or obsolete mode of thought, often by interpreting myth as the primitive counterpart of modern science.

The trust in myth lost bit by bit over time to modern sicence. Sicence change what people used to have total trust in, as the one who created the world ect. Also to explain natural phenomena. But I don't think science can say Myth is just a story. I can prove the false in Myth it self, but it prove the contens in the Myths are false.
  • Many 20th-century theories of myth rejected the 19th-century theories' opposition of myth and science. In general, "twentieth-century theories have tended to see myth as almost anything but an outdated counterpart to science […] Consequently, moderns are not obliged to abandon myth for science."

  • Although the human soul was sometimes symbolically or literally depicted in ancient cultures as a bird or other animal, it was widely held that the soul was an exact reproduction of the body in every feature, even down to clothing the person wore.

  • The creation, performance, significance, and even the definition of music vary according to culture and social context. Music ranges from strictly organized compositions (and their recreation in performance), through improvisational music to aleatoric forms. Music can be divided into genres and subgenres, although the dividing lines and relationships between music genres are often subtle, sometimes open to individual interpretation, and occasionally controversial. Within "the arts", music may be classified as a performing art, a fine art, and auditory art.

  • A culture hero is a mythological hero specific to some group (cultural, ethnic, racial, religious, etc.) who changes the world through invention or discovery. A typical culture hero might be credited as the discoverer of fire, or agriculture, songs, tradition and religion, and is usually the most important legendary figure of a people, sometimes as the founder of its ruling dynasty. The hero is sometimes said to be still living, but is often instead a star, constellation, animal or purely spiritual in nature

A child's weight is highly influenced by their food choices and family meals. It plays a critical role on their diet.Hence if a parent lets their own child make their own food choices, then that wouldn't be good since kids enjoy eating junk food and fast food, which doesn't do any justice to their bodies. Instead, they should be eating healthy nutritious foods such as vegetables and fruits. It is important for the parent to be in charge of what their child consumes. I found out from another source that studies have shown that almost all childs who are overweight, are due to their parents giving them control over what they want to eat.

    • Ammy EWSIS

However, in some case, its different for other people. For example, females are very conscious about their own body appearance. They are very strict to themselves when it comes to having a nice body image. When influenced by a magazine model to look thin, they would binge and not eat; which later on leads to a serious case of anorexia.
  • Childhood obesity however can also lead to life-threatening conditions including diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, sleep problems, cancer, and other disorders.[6][7] Some of the other disorders would include liver disease, early puberty or menarche, eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia, skin infections, and asthma and other respiratory problems.

Consciousness - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - 0 views

  • Consciousness in psychology and philosophy has four characteristics: subjectivity, change, continuity and selectivity.[1][6] Intentionality or aboutness (that consciousness is about something) has also been suggested by philosopher Franz Brentano. However, within the philosophy of mind there is no consensus on whether intentionality is a requirement for consciousness
    • Luis EWSIS

This sentence is quite convoluted. It basically says that in both psychology and philosophy consciousness is explained and debated in terms concerning its subjective value, the change that comes if consciousness is applied to a particular situation, the continuity and selectivity of a conscious force. Intent is one of the most important characteristics defining consciousness, but still it is debated whether intent is totally necessary to make something conscious.

  • Attendees of metal concerts do not dance in the usual sense; Deena Weinstein has argued that this is due to the music's largely male audience and "extreme heterosexualist ideology." She identifies two primary body movements that substitute for dancing: headbanging and an arm thrust that is both a sign of appreciation and a rhythmic gesture.[40] The performance of air guitar is popular among metal fans both at concerts and listening to records at home.[41] Other concert audience activities include stage diving, crowd surfing, pushing and shoving in a chaotic mêlée called moshing, and displaying the corna hand symbol.

Personality psychology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - 0 views

    • Tian EWSIS

As I know, one's behaviors are always affected by that person's personality. This quote made me want to explore more about the connection between a person's personality and behavior.
  • There is no consensus on the definition of "personality" in psychology. Most researchers and psychologists do not explicitly identify themselves with a certain perspective and often take an eclectic approach.
    • Tian EWSIS

According to this quote, I realized that everyone's definition of "personality" is different from others'. Therefore, a person's behavior may be explained in different ways among different people. Thus, nothing is always absolutely constant, especially personality. This made me wonder if it is human's nature that people always change as time passes, and one day you suddenly realize the one you used to know is not the same any more.
  • Critics of personality theory claim personality is "plastic" across time, places, moods, and situations. Changes in personality may indeed result from diet (or lack thereof), medical effects, significant events, or learning. However, most personality theories emphasize stability over fluctuation.
    • Tian EWSIS

This quote has proved my previous hypothesis was right. A person's personality may change because of many facts in our lives. I'm now wondering which facts have the greatest impacts on people's personalities.
