The map have show us how terrible food problem in the world, the most terrible food problem is in Africa, because the map show most of the country in the Africa have the food problem, some of the prevalence of Undemourishment in total population is over 35 to 50 percent. One of the place have over 50 percent. In china, there have a little food problem also.
  •
This map shows the percentage of people affected by hunger. As you can see, Africa is most affected by this world issue. Almost more than half of the countries on the continent is 35% or more affected. There are also places in Europe, Asia, South America, and some places in North America that have hunger. Surprisingly, you don't see anything in the U.S. [I wonder why! I guess it's because we're the fattest nation in the world!]

I'm learning more about food securities and how we can change the world by helping out. In this map, I can see that poverty exists more in the southern regions of the world. I think that it's kind of ironic when these are the countries that the world rely on. It's where we buy our cotton, our coffee beans, bananas and corn.

The food hunger crisis is a big concern for me now because its very sad and horrifying to believe that this is actually happening as I type this. I could never imagine what kind life this could be because I have been so lucky and blessed with the life I have. In a way, even though I am just a middle/average class type of person, I feel very rich and spoiled compared to these helpless poor people who are starving around the world.

The map have show that the food crisis around the world.on the map African was the most danger place.and the most part of North America have a percent of undernourishment in total population over 5%.

Why the explosion of social games excites veteran developers | Geek Gestalt - CNET News - 0 views

  •
"On the other hand, Smith said that any game developer trying to build a game that attracts audiences around the world would do well to concentrate on proper localization. Mistakes that have annoyed regional audiences, Smith said, have included one social game offering virtual goods timed for Christmas that didn't make sense to South Americans because they featured snow-oriented scenes. "

"Still, it may not matter whether developers consider social games to be bona fide games, Reynolds said. Rather, succeeding in the Facebook era may mean learning a lot more about social interactions than about game mechanics. "The magic is in the social interactions," Reynolds said. "And so we have to devise game mechanics that are very, very light...get the social right, and then work on the game mechanics."

ESCAP Press Release: ESCAP Urges Recognition of Women's Informal Work as Crucial to Imp... - 0 views

  • A special session to commemorate International Women’s Day on 25 March at ESCAP headquarters in Bangkok, with the theme, “Women Speak Up: Voices from the Informal Sector,” heard messages about valuing women’s informal work and their contributions to the global economy. The event included a discussion on women informal workers, addressing accountability and the need to affirm the value of women’s work in the informal sector while making linkages with migration, HIV, violence against women and women’s leadership.
  • “We must have the involvement of women and girls in finding effective solutions. It is women who raise sons and daughters and are influencing children’s attitudes and values about gender equality and human rights,” said keynote speaker Dr. Saisuree Chutikul, a former Minister attached to the Office of the Prime Minister of Thailand and current member of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. “They should have freedom to express their views, to participate in decision-making and have leadership roles in areas of their concern.”
  • “Women are more marginalized than men. And as workers, women are the bottom of the job hierarchy. They have limited access to productive resources, often working for low wages, in contractual and flexible employment, without legal or social protections or collective bargaining mechanisms, and subject to market vagaries,”

Personality Development: Avoid Emotional Responses - 0 views

  •
"Many times, as you listen, it is difficult to control you emotional responses to the speaker's message. Each of us has a list of words that trigger emotional responses - whether positive or negative. At times you will need to separate facts from the opinions of those who are speaking to you. This is called critical listening." I think it's very true that we need to " separate facts from the opinions of those who are speaking to " or "evaluate each message by deciding what is fact and what is opinion." However, when things happen, it's always hard to do. We are habitual putting our own opinions into facts when other people are speaking us. I think we haven't realized this problem or we don't see any problem with doing this. Yet, inserting our own opinions into the real facts may twists the truth, or even bring trouble to people or ourselves. Maybe I'm just exaggerating it, yet my experience told me we better realize this issue and try to change this bad habit.

First Impressions Count When Making Personality Judgments - US News and World Report - 1 views

  •
"In an age dominated by social media where personal photographs are ubiquitous, it becomes important to understand the ways personality is communicated via our appearance." I think it's pretty true that our appearance may reflect our personality. For example, if someone appears very neat and healthy and always smiles warmly, he must be very confident; if someone appears very untidy, I bet this person is very lazy. As we shouldn't judge a book by the cover, it's hard to absolutely tell a person's characteristics based on his appearance. Yet first impression is always very important because we are just used to remembering and judging by what comes into our vision first.

Dissociative Identity Disorder and the Cycle of Violence - 0 views

  •
I'm learning more about dissociative identity disorder or DID also known as multiple personality disorder or MPD right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is what causes DID and is there a was cure this disorder. I was researching this question online, and this news item caught my attention because the article had a lot of information about the dis order and it was an interesting article. Treatment may vary, but the general consensus involves steps of psychotherapy. Firstly, the therapist should foster an attitude of respect of each personality for each other. Secondly, a therapist should establish meaningful conversation with as many personalities as possible without siding with any one of them. Lastly, the therapist should help the personalities to merge together to become one complete integrated personality (Howe, 1984). Dissociative identity disorder does not cure itself, thus treatment is extremely important. The quote I chose here is basically saying how a therapist should start treatment with a DID patient. The steps of each treatment and also that DID doesn't cure itself and it needs treatment.

Perhaps We All Have Multiple Personality Disorder - 0 views

  •
I'm learning more about multiple personality right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is what cause multiple personality and is there a way to over come multiple personality disorder. I was researching this question online, and this blog post caught my attention because the blog post was about this book"Switching Time" by Dr. Richard Baer. The book is about a girl who has multiple personality disorder, she had 17 personalities. People who suffer from Multiple Personality Disorder or MPD, have normally suffered something tragic in their lives that cause them to split mentally in order to protect themselves. Don't we all do that when we are in stressful situations? We become someone who we aren't, sometimes only momentarily, but for a brief moment we don't even recognize ourselves. The difference is we are aware of this behavior when it happens, but what if we were suddenly forced into extreme situations repeatedly - how would we handle it? The quote I chose here is basically saying that MPD happens to people that go through something tragic in their lives. And to protect themselves their mind splits. It also says how we all do that sometimes but the difference is we know it and MPD patients don' t. When we change that's intentionally but MPD patients don't get a choice they just have it and they have to deal with the disorder.

What I noticed most about "Steam buns 'R' us", was that they chose to talk about Steam Buns out of all things on main street. I guess they find Steam Buns THAT important. This probably stands out to me is because I have never tasted a Steam Bun and to be honest, I don't want to either. I have never liked East-Asian foods. I don't find enough taste in it. Its probably because I'm so used to eating such spicy foods because I'm Pakistani! When Melissa said, "cuz google never lies," I was thinking that's not true! There is lots of stuff on google that's not true. I know she probably said that to add humor to the story but it stood out to me. Another part I really liked was when Hawa said, "And I'm just Korean." It brought humor to the presentation. It really stood out because the music in the background paused. It seemed like the editing was done really well. I enjoyed watching this clip. It was funny, entertaining and informative.

Im learning about Teenagers Behavior and what i am wondering about is why these teensm go threw so much and take it out on other peoples.I was researching this question online and this is article caught my attention because it break down all different types of a teenager behavior and why its like that.I choose this item to read because it hads alot of helpful detail. "All teens act as if there grown and try to out word their parent, most these behavior comes from relationship problems or problems at home with the family" This quote chose here is basically saying teens do what they want if they want to are not because disrespecting a parent is extremely rude but when teenager are all "grown" up they do whatever. I think is a simple quote that explains a lot because i shows how you can take two keywords and make a whole story it makes me wonder why these people came up with there article in all different types of subject form.
