I am learning about animation and 3d animation programs, and in particular I want to know what are some good 3d animation programs? I was researching this question online and came upon this program iCLone 4. This program has so many new and amazing features including Reallusion Fuses Real-Time 3D Animation and Video Compositing FX. I was amazed by how advanced technology had become. This program seemed perfect and just what I was looking for. I really want to experiment with different 3D animation programs in order to find out witch on I work best with or maybe if I find I can use multiple programs.

Social Networking on Intranets (Jakob Nielsen's Alertbox) - 0 views

  • An old lesson that holds true with social software is that a bunch of stand-alone tools will provide a disconnected user experience, causing employees to waste inordinate amounts of time moving between environments.

This feels even more true in schools. I'm worried about the different environments we are introducing into the Youth Voices community: Google Apps, Diigo now too?, VoiceThread, and Drupal... probably more. Need to think on these matters.

Video game - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - 0 views

  • Early games used interactive electronic devices with various display formats. The earliest example is from 1947—a "Cathode ray tube Amusement Device" was filed for a patent on January 25, 1947 by Thomas T. Goldsmith Jr. and Estle Ray Mann, and issued on December 14, 1948 as U.S. Patent 2455992

This is important, you need to know the history of the platforms.
  • In common use a "PC game" refers to a form of media that involves a player interacting with a personal computer connected to a high-resolution video monitor. A "console game" is played on a specialized electronic device that connects to a standard television set or composite video monitor. A "handheld" gaming device is a self contained electronic device that is portable and can be held in a user's hands. "Arcade game" generally refers to a game played on an even more specialized type of electronic device that is typically designed to play only one game and is encased in a special cabinet.

Its important to know the difference of each platform. They arent all the same, and different platforms equals different views.
  • Core games are sometimes considered demanding in their gameplay and typically do not appeal to the casual gamer, but

this quote referenced a different type of gamer, the casual gamer. This qupte is completely true. Most games that come out are "core" games, they require (well most of the time) a lot of effort to complete. Casual gamers usually play games to relax, not to play for the action.

  • In Australia, the United Kingdom and other PAL regions, generally when compared to the US, PAL gamers pay 40% to 50% more for the same product.

If its in the same language, why such a price difference?
  • The NPD Group tracks computer and video game sales in the United States. It reported in 2004 that: Console and portable software sales: $6.2 billion, up 8% from 2003[41] Console and portable hardware and accessory sales: $3.7 billion, down 35% from 2003[41] PC game sales: $1.1 billion, down 15% from 2006[42]

I wonder why in the US there doesnt seem to be the same interest in PC games, as there is in East Asia. o_O

Basically video games are games that when in use, show visuals.

  • Cheats usually make the game easier by providing an unlimited amount of some resource; for example weapons, health, or ammunitio

Cheaters never prosper. Usually if there is an achievement, if you use a cheat code, you lose the chance to gain that achievement.

I'm doing some last-minute thinking about this whole field, preparing for a conversation in just a bit on Teachers Teaching Teachers with a couple of self-proclaimed evangelists for Zotero and the developers of another similar site/service, Memcatch. I wonder what it means that there are so many choices out there. Do they all do the same thing? Do they all lack something? Why isn't there more coherence with this work?

This is an important point. There are, of course, advantages and disadvantages to human labor.

Smith Micro Software Announces International Launch of Anime Studio Debut 6 and Anime S... - 0 views

This was very exciting news for me since I really love finding new programs to animate my art. This program seems amazing and offers everything I need. "Anime Studio will have you animating quickly, even if you've never done it before. We offer everything the aspiring or professional artist needs to create quality 2D animation, such as ready-to-use anime and cartoon style characters, with tutorials and sample files designed to help anyone master the latest animation techniques," said Sarina DuPont. This seems like an easy to use program not like some of the others ones I have used that are overly confusing and take to much time. I hope to one day use this program and improve my animation skills.
