"At Google, we support the education of families on how to stay safe online. That's why we've teamed up with online safety organization iKeepSafe to develop curriculum that educators can use in the classroom to teach what it means to be a responsible online citizen. The curriculum is designed to be interactive, discussion filled and allow students to learn through hands-on and scenario activities. On this site you'll find a resource booklet for both educators and students that can be downloaded in PDF form, presentations to accompany the lesson and animated videos to help frame the conversation. New guidelines for Fair Use! - Home - Doug Johnson's Blue Skunk Blog - 0 views

  • The Code of Best Practices in Fair Use for Media Literacy Education outlines five principles, each with limitations: Educators can, under some circumstances: 1. Make copies of newspaper articles, TV shows, and other copyrighted works, and use them and keep them for educational use. 2. Create curriculum materials and scholarship with copyrighted materials embedded. 3. Share, sell and distribute curriculum materials with copyrighted materials embedded. Learners can, under some circumstances: 4. Use copyrighted works in creating new material. 5. Distribute their works digitally if they meet the transformativeness standard.
  • The Code, video and other curriculum materials for educators are available at http://centerforsocialmedia.org/medialiteracy and can also be found at http://mediaeducationlab.com/.

Are any of you using this? I created an account for the LIU, so I could see all of the materials. There are program materials for holding parent education nights for the various grade levels.
