    Actually (and respectfully) that's a pretty bad list of Wordpress plugins. Some of those are horrible plugins, like No Ping Wait, and Ultimate Tag Warrior - neither of which are needed anymore. Many of
    the rest while 'helpful' are far from essential. The screenshot appears to be of WP 2.5 or 2.6 even though the blog post is Jan 2009 which would have been 2.7+.

    I've been using (and blogging) Wordpress for many years, this is my list of Essential plugins is as follows:
