Collaborative Students

cracking the reading code with the brain in mind... saw this at waller mill last friday and thought it was great... take a look!

This is an interactive way for students to research the five regions of Virginia. Students will select one region and research the geographical characteristics, location, industries, and interesting facts. They will construct a travel brochure that highlights all of these key points. Virginia's regions are different in many ways, both geographically and economically.

Such a fun activity for 2nd grade students, especially around Halloween!! Students learn all about bats so that they can convince their teachers to turn the classrooms into bat caves! Each pair creates a slide about bats that is put into a slideshow to show the teachers!

A great Web Quest for 2nd grade students! Students pretend they are scientists and are exploring the stages of the butterfly life cycle. Students are split up into groups and explore one specific stage. They find their information from books, the internet, and YouTube videos! Then groups then share their findings!

A great Web Quest for second grade students! Students learn about the Arctic region by reading and researching Arctic animals and the weather in the Arctic on the internet. They then make a "Picture Encyclopedia". So fun!!
