I cannot stress enough how much this site helped me in my course last semester with css and coding. The best part I found is that the example coding can be used and altered to fit whatever you are doing. That way, you see what it should look like and then add your own stuff to make the code your own with how you want the final product to look. That's probably the best way to learn HTML and CSS. And you can actually collect good examples from around the web, since HTML and CSS are always viewable.

Basic CSS Concepts - 0 views

This, like the w3 schools, is helpful because of the simple nature in which it describes the layout of css. By showing what the code looks like and describing what should go where, it helps the person learning what the final (if basic) outcome should resemble. This, like the w3 schools, is helpful because of the simple nature in which it describes the layout of css. webprog-1-g -- Derek Jeter: Future Hall of Famer? - 0 views

  •
Derek Jeter is a great baseball player, but is he Hall of Fame caliber? Check out his statistics against a couple of other Hall of Hame shortstops and decide for yourself.
  •
Good--and appropriate!--use of the <table> tag. Note, however, that <font> is deprecated, and should be avoided.

Any particular pay web hosting company you would recommend? They all seem to have the same features and the same price...

My recommendation is the one I suggest here: NearlyFreeSpeech. It's a new host to me, but comes recommended, and does everything we need it to. I use Dreamhost for this (and most of my) sites. It's a solid host--and works pretty well. I'm not sure I love it, but moving costs (in time) are too high for me to choose to go elsewhere...

This site is basically a brief introduction to me, Ellise. Nothing complex or fancy, just wanted to use some basic and tags as well as link in the site, and out of the site.

Yeah, not trying to go for the triple-points score is a good call :). Nice site.

Cool--getting my 2 month old started on air guitar with impossibly loud stereo to start. Glad he's setting off on the right foot. (Well, that metaphor is a little off, for now.)

A fine effort, but need to do this in a plain text editor. Word is definitely not your friend on this one. It might feel like going backward, but please put this up without the markup. Thanks!

Saves me a step if you can link right to the validation: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fastarr.nfshost.com%2Fintroagain.html&charset=(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=0 But this works, which is most important :).

    Here is my syllabus question.

In case I haven't answered elsewhere. You can do as many of the challenges as you like. Take a look over the syllabus for information as to how completion is related to grades. And yes, in response to the first time around, I've provided a longer deadline, for more flexibility. Generally, the work is due within one week after the module is scheduled. And yes, I use Diigo to find everything you've done--so if you want me to see it, make sure you bookmark it and let me know what you want it to count for (e.g., webprog-1-b, like this one).

Nice work here. Some people might look at this code like it has 3 heads--because it does! Each html document should have only 1 head section. But it renders great, and that's all we need for this challenge.

Unfortunately, the page isn't validating. You need to track down and squash those bugs :). Some of them are the ones I mentioned earlier, I believe. Be sure to let me know when it's validating so I can recheck. Thanks!

This is fine for the assignment, but note that it will not validate (I assume). Take a look at that second <ul>. You've got an un-nested <p> tag there--it starts before the <ul> and ends before the </ul>. Actually, that <p> is extraneous, so you can just delete it...

Take a look at the course blog for the topic "TextEdit Travails." Looks like you need to set the preferences to "plain text." Go ahead and do this, and re-upload (and re-tag, so I look at it again), and you should be good.
