Quinnipiac University Campus Map - 0 views

  •
Final Assignment. Interactive, customized Google map of the Quinnipiac campus. Color coded and packed with photos, links and more. The page includes a cascading dropdown select menu (from module 6), so you can see which buildings hold which departments. You can get to more of the official QU website from this page as well - I included the QU's site rollover menu bar. Enjoy the summer!

Second try at the vaildation form. Matt thanked me, but I have to thank him for bringing the lack of name validation to my attention. After trying a seperate code for this page, the address validator has been tweaked abd works much better now.

I was able to figure out how to use a jquery fadeout. I found that beginners video to be very helpful! I also made it a 'slow' fade.

Creating Sortable Lists With PHP And Ajax - PHP articles and PHP tutorials - PHP 5, My... - 0 views

  •
This is a more advanced tutorial on using Ajax and PHP to extract a list from a MySql database that can be done in a way that an ordered list can't provide. After you've created the database, you use PHP and Ajax to drag and drop data in the order you want it extracted, then you can save the data in this newly-defined order.

I finally got this going once I found the right site with a validator form. I tried multiple places, and after getting stuck and having to tweak a bunch of things, I finally settled on this basic form. http://www.netmechanic.com/news/vol6/javascript_no4.htm

Almost, but lets me through with a fake email...

Unobtrusive - 0 views

I'm still having trouble understanding javascript - so I'm shooting for partial credit with this sub mod. Again, bowing to Erica's benevolence. Many thanks.

Hmm... unobtrusive is one thing, but this doesn't actually *do* anything so far as I can see...

WDVL: The JavaScript Chronicles - 0 views

This is a good introduction that explains alot about the value of Javascript. It explains how it simplifies tasks that used to be server-intensive by placing some of the load on the user's local machine. It is more efficient, can be re-used and sends the server a simplified information set that is easily processed.

Chipotle Mexican Grill...If you haven't had it I suggest you try it. It's made in front of you, you just pick what you want. The meat quality is great and every place is very clean! Unreal Burritos!

Introduction to PHP - 0 views

This site presents a nice overview of what PHP can do, why you would want to use it. It starts you off with a very simple explanation and examples. I know there are alot of different introductions out there, but this is just another example. We all have to find things that we personally find easy to use.

I created the map, but them started messing around and wanted to add the javascript aspect to it so it would have the hide/show. I tweeked my previous code so it would match up with this page and the body would appear on the click rather than the form in the previous bookmark.

By clicking on the "Leave A Comment" link the email form appears. I just cannot figure out how to make the email vaidation code to stick. I am still a little confused on where to put the second function script.

Although it appears to be someone's blog and not a huge, credible site, it does appear to have the correct form of a javascript popup.

w3schools does a great job once again with their tutorials. I often find myself here at w3 when I run in to a problem. They usually do a decent job shedding light on many issues depending on what you are trying to accomplish.

Voila! Erica and I did a variation of fill-in-the-blank wedding stories, complete with wedding cake themed CSS. Fill out the form once, choose the button for the story you want - hitting the back button will allow you to simply choose another story from the index page. Enjoy, and happy summer.
  •
This is mine and Jen's final. We created a wedding story fill-in, using JQuery and Php in order to input your values into our stories. Enjoy!

This is my attempt to help others who are trying to create a task that spits back random images instead of just a random number (the Dice module). I used a screen shot from a w3schools example, and I also used 2 screen shots of my own work to assist others. This saved time in writing the code...

I still don't understand why AJAX is useful (heh) but this website explains it really well. Thanks for a great semester y'all.
