Mimida; A mechanically generated Multilingual Semantic Network
You are in the right place for information about the Mimida multilingual semantic network. This project is part of an exercise in knowledge representation and an exponent of my interest in language. The Mimida project is one the projects that compete for my spare time.
ARCOE aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners from core areas of Artificial Intelligence (Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, Contexts, and Ontologies) to discuss these kinds of problems and relevant results.
The Efficient XML Interchange (EXI) standard dramatically improves the performance, network efficiency, and power consumption of applications that use XML. EXI is a very compact representation of XML information, making it ideal for use in smart phones, devices with memory or bandwidth constraints, in performance sensitive applications such as sensor networks, in consumer electronics such as cameras, in automobiles, in real-time trading systems, and in many other scenarios.
Foundations of Semantic Web Technologies
Chapman & Hall/CRC, 2009, 455 pages, hardcover
ISBN: 9781420090505 (BibTeX). Semantic Web is a maturing field of technology that continues to be the emphasis of much focused research. This foundational text introduces the standardized knowledge representation languages for modeling ontologies operating at the core of the semantic web. To support the presentation of each language, the authors explain syntax and underlying intuitions through examples, with separate treatment of the underlying formal semantics. They cover RDF Schema, Web Ontology Language (OWL), rules, and query languages, such as SPARQL. The book also presents recent developments concerning the OWL 2 revision and the forthcoming Rule Interchange Format (RIF).
The Semantic News Community Group is a forum for exploring the intersection of W3C semantic technologies and news gathering, production, distribution and consumption.
It will focus on a common representation for abstract ideas in the news domain such as a 'news event' or a domain ontology for news. This includes the follo
Now it is even easier to use the rich and diverse collection of real-world concepts in OpenCyc to bring meaning to your semantic web applications! The full OpenCyc content is now available both as downloadable OWL ontologies as well as via semantic web endpoints (i.e., permanent URIs). These URIs return RDF representations of each Cyc concept as well as a human-readable version when accessed via a Web Browser.
"The Indigenous Knowledge on Drought Domain Ontology (IKON) provides a simple, integrated representation of local indigeneous knowledge on drought. This ontology models the types and relations for rich description of events, objects (natural indicators), processes and their attributes."
"The Semantic MediaWiki (SMW) extension allows for managing structured data in your wiki and for querying that data to create dynamic representations: tables, timelines, maps, lists, etc."
"Cognonto is an IT consulting boutique specializing in semantic technologies, knowledge graphs, and knowledge-based artificial intelligence. We are the developers of, and have unique expertise in, the knowledge structure KBpedia and its use in machine learning and data interoperability. Cognonto principals are scientists and acknowledged experts in knowledge representation, natural language understanding, and distributed knowledge sharing."
There are many ways to make visual representations of data: bar charts, line graphs, scatter diagrams, sparklines... not to mention the many ways in which
Primal Fusion is a Waterloo-based startup that is about to come out of stealth mode, with a technology focused in semantic data retrieval.
