This document specifies a vocabulary for describing projects independently of the project domain (e.g. software product development, fundraising, painting the garage). The intended architecture is primarily goal-oriented, that a project will consist of goals which may be broken down into subgoals and may be satisfied by completing a set of associated tasks. The vocabulary is constructed using the Resource Description Framework (RDF) and the Web Ontology Language (OWL). It may be used in conjunction with other RDF vocabularies such as FOAF or as an RSS 1.0 module.

The LDSpider project provides a web crawling framework for the Linked Data web. Requirements and challenges for crawling the Linked Data web are different from regular web crawling, thus the LDSpider project offers a web crawler adapted to traverse and harvest content from the Linked Data web.

A catalyser for the Web of data Datalift brings raw structured data coming from various formats (relational databases, CSV, XML, ...) to semantic data interlinked on the Web of Data. Datalift is an experimental research project funded by the French national research agency. Its goal is to develop a platform to publish and interlink datasets on the Web of data. Datalift will both publish datasets coming from a network of partners and data providers and propose a set of tools for easing the datasets publication process. Platypus Wiki is a project to develop an enhanced Wiki Wiki Web with ideas borrowed from the Semantic Web. It offers a simple user interface to create wiki pages with metadata based on W3C standards. It uses RDF (Resource Description Framework), RDF Schema and OWL (Web Ontology Language) to create ontologies and manage metadata.Platypus Wiki is an ongoing open source project started on 23th December 2003. The project is actually hosted on SourceForge and licensed under GNU GPL.

Minerva Portals is a joint effort of the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Jena and the IBM Deutschland Research & Development GmbH in Boeblingen. The overall goal of this project is provide an architectural solution for the next generation Web portals. We are aiming to overcome the drawbacks and limitations of static portals and make portals more intuitive, dynamic, and flexible. In this project, we work on Web portal extensions in the following areas: * Context-awareness. By taking into account the context in which the user is acting, we can efficiently adjust the portal to fit the user's current situation, for example depending on the currently used device, time or location from which the portal is accessed. * Adaptivity. Adaptive Web portals learn from the users' behavior and make assumptions about their information needs and potential behavior throughout future sessions.

The SWAD-Europe project ran from May 2002 to October 2004, and aimed to support W3C's Semantic Web initiative in Europe, providing targeted research, demonstrations and outreach to ensure Semantic Web technologies move into the mainstream of networked computing. DBpedia is a project aiming to extract structured information from the information created as part of the Wikipedia project. This structured information is then made available on the World Wide Web. DBpedia allows users to query relationships and properties associated with Wikipedia resources, including links to other related datasets. DBpedia has been described by Tim Berners-Lee as one of the more famous parts of the Linked Data project.

the metaweb project ~ find and be found The MetaWeb Project is an example application for the exchange of messages in the Semantic Web. It offers the possibility to add individual and standardised markings on Websides, Blogs, Feeds, Images or Web Services. On the other hand it is possible to create search profiles with the same method, so that the hits are of a high quality because of the matching of the meta descriptions. Markings and search profiles can be given out in the RDF format or be parsed on the pages CodeInput (for markings) and AnglerInput (for search profiles).

The goal of the SEALS project is to provide an independent, open, scalable, extensible and sustainable infrastructure (the SEALS Platform) that allows the remote evaluation of semantic technologies thereby providing an objective comparison of the different existing semantic technologies. This will allow researchers and users to effectively compare the available technologies, helping them to select appropriate technologies and advancing the state of the art through continuous evaluation."

Twarql - Streaming Annotated Tweets project ("twarql") In this project we investigate the representation of tweets as RDF in order to enable flexibility in handling the information overload of those interested in collectively analyzing social media for sensemaking.

The EU IST integrated project Semantic Knowledge Technologies (SEKT) developed and exploited semantic knowledge technologies. Core to the SEKT project has been the creation of synergies by combining the three core research areas ontology management, machine learning and natural language processing.
