    UBY is a large-scale lexical-semantic resource for natural language processing (NLP) based on the ISO standard Lexical Markup Framework (LMF). UBY combines a wide range of information from expert-constructed and collaboratively constructed resources for English and German. Currently, UBY holds structurally and semantically interoperable versions of nine resources in two languages:  English WordNet, Wiktionary, Wikipedia, FrameNet and VerbNet,  German Wikipedia, Wiktionary and GermaNet, and multilingual OmegaWiki.

    How can we provide access to information services that are available only in English(or Dutch, German, French, etc.) to people who do not speak this language, or not good enough to understand everything they need to know? Monnet will be concerned with providing solutions for this, using a novel combination of automatic machine translation and Semantic Web technology. The project is a joint effort between four European research institutes, German software giant SAP, Dutch company Be Informed - specializing in knowledge-based solutions for public sector information services - and standardization organisation XBRL-Europe - defining the standard for financial and business reporting across Europe.

    The Thesaurus Project of the Geological Survey of Austria attempts the task of the construction of a controlled vocabulary for the semantic harmonisation of map-based geodata. The content-related realization of this project is governed by the Thesaurus Editorial Team, which consists of thematic experts from the Geological Survey of Austria. Currently there are 4 thematic thesauri available which reflect the basic information of geological maps: lithology, geologic timescale, geologic and tectonic units. All thesauri are available in both German and English* via an open web-application and standardised service interface.
