Game- How do you know jobs? - 2 views

  •
This game is designed for high intermediate EFL student. Through this game, EFL learners can revise their knowledge of job descriptions. This game can be played by one player or two players. Accordingly, it will also promote collaboration between learners. An EFL intermediate learner had a chance to choose one of the provided choices and decide whether it corresponds to the job description provided in the game or not and accordingly, to gain particular score or not. I tried it with my brother's wife (24 year-old) and she in some cases guessed the write answer. She had some difficulties because of some words used in job descriptions. Though, she tried to understand the word in context and guess the meaning. I would suggest my peers to use this educational game because it promotes L2 learners language skills in terms of enhancing their vocabulary.

podcast with support pack elementary listening reading cohesive order of sentences voca... - 1 views

  •
The PDF file includes a great range of various exercises. This activity is very useful as students learn to read and write while they are listening. Students need to read through the questions in the exercises in the practice materials before listening to the podcast. While they're scanning the text they will get an idea about what they are going to listen to. They have to read the instructions of each exercise carefully, as sometimes they must listen for the 'right' answers. But in some of these questions, they must choose the one answer that is not possible or wrong. These exercises are also appropriate for those who intend to take IELTS or iBT exams later. My students did this activity; they liked it and didn't get bored (the variety of the exercises made them busy and concentrated). I gave them some other podcasts with their support packs and saw their gradual improvement.

Elementary: Find the Synonym - 7 views

  •
Knowing synonyms is important for L2 language learners in order not to repeat the same words in writing or in speaking. Although it is designed for the elementary level, I advise this activity for intermediate level because I experimented with children in elementary level I saw that the words are a little bit more sophisticated.

Idioms Game - Slang Game - 4 views

  •
Vocabulary is Fun! It is important to teach idioms in the English language classrooms since they are frequently used in the speaking discourse with native speakers and if the learners are unaware of them they will fail to understand what they mean. I tried this activity with learners and saw that it was challenging for them but little by little they overcame the difficulties.
