Hey guys. Just watched a live session online at Cisco w the developers of this system, still in development, but interesting differentiators vs 2Life, e.g. peer-to-peer, nested worlds, oh and its open-source. Thought yaz might be interested in tracking it.

Office add-in for Moodle allows individuals to upload (and download and edit) files directly to moodle from office. "You no longer need to use your web browser when working with Office documents stored in Moodle" is their statement, which is interesting in thaqt everyone else is moving to the web as the platform!

Long post and comments on the vle vs the ple by John Fontaine, head of 'Platform Evangelism' at BB. Interesting that he appears to view the vle as a transmitter and instructor driven and I wonder if this then justifies the rest of his thinking on the role of technology.

Interesting post flagging the info overload things that we have all come across. The second point in the 5 point list is part of the concept that Downes & Siemens have used in the Connectivism MOOC i.e. don't even attempt to read everything - that's not what it's about. Instead choose & filter your information, create networks and trust platforms for 3rd party filtering.

Platforms can lock content eg e-books that they don't own the copyright to. Would have liked the article to do more redefining though.
