Review of book on implementing OLPC in the class. Interesting paragraph on boundary issues - by giving kids a laptop, school was impinging on home life and parental decisions on whether their kids should have  alaptop at home.

Probably higher level school/undergrad level. Ones I've seen are 'interesting' takes on maths rather than dry lecture type stuff.

Interesting. Dragon in a browser! Needs some work on recognition although I'm trying in  a noisy environment.  

Great looking site built by 1st years. "AllAboutLinguistics.com was created by first-year linguistics students at the University of Sheffield, supported by staff in the School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics. The website formed part of the students assessment, after they completed a course called Introduction to Linguistics, and it aims to share the knowledge they gained from this module with anyone outside the University who is interested in language and its study - especially A-Level students thinking of going on to study linguistics at University. We asked students to build the site because as beginners in linguistics themselves, they were in a good position to help explain the discipline to you."

Very interesting post dissecting the flaws of conferences and beginning to suggest alternative ways of organising conference type events. Might be something for a strand in WCELfest.

Actually doesn't give any real insights about 'academic' content - the first comment makes that point well. Perhaps the full paper is better.

Very interesting article highlighting the dramatic change in teenage writing over the years. Nowadays we make no more grammatical errors than we did 100 years ago, but what we write is much longer and more complex.
