These children are orphans, some have been abandoned, and some have parents but still require extra support. The orphanage strives to provide a better future for some of the most vulnerable children in Nepal. As a volunteer, you will primarily assist with the daily care of the kids; including bathing, feeding and clothing. You can work with infants and toddlers, and also older school age children. Volunteers can teach English, help with homework and exam preparation, and to simply engage the kids in extracurricular activities. You can arrange activities, create arts & crafts projects and share your time and caring with these wonderful children. Volunteers also assist the local staff with administration and planning duties. Prior experience not necessary, volunteers should have a lot of patience, an open mind and a sense of compassion. In Kathmandu our volunteers support two local children's centers. These programs operate as day care/educational centers for poor children of the community. Our volunteer placements allow you to work in the National Parks dotting the coast of the Caribbean region and also on the Pacific Coast. As a volunteer you can get involved with organic farming, soil regeneration, rain forest conservation, endangered species, sea turtle conservation projects and more.

The children are ages 5yrs-13yrs and provided free education at a children's center. The school serves hundreds of local children from the surrounding communities. Volunteers support the local teachers with English and math classes; encourage students to learn and play and instill pride in their schooling. Volunteers can assist with the physical upkeep of the school; painting, decorating, mending desks etc. Prior teaching experience is not required; volunteer simply need an open mind, caring spirit and a compassionate nature.
