The thing that wills tick with me from the presentation was the way that you can format a Google Search. I never knew you could adjust a search to meet criteria all the way down to reading level. This is a great resource for Middle School students in particular. It makes it so the material that they find is appropriate in content and context. I have since gone and explored other options to adjust the searches. I also like the no ad search. It seems like a little distraction, but for a student who does not realize those first items are ads can make a difference.
I used Authorstream and Google Reader as my two 2.0 tools. Authorstream allows all students to paste weekly powerpoints online and view and comment on eachothers work. Google Reader, combined with student blogging, allows me to connect with students and read daily journals easily. This will lead to better conversation and quicker return of feedback.
