    Google Alerts are email updates of the latest relevant Google results (web, news, etc.) based on your choice of query or topic. Enter the topic you wish to monitor, then click preview to see the type of results you'll receive.

    I mentioned in my discussion post the importance of staying on top of what information is floating around out there about VCU for my job. I've found Google Alerts a helpful tool for doing that.

    This is from the Bill Gate's backed Khan Academy and houses lots of audio and visual videos on differing topics from math to the humanities. It's worth perusing!

    We love Khan Academy but are working on ways to use the videos to add depth to instruction not just replace the sage on the stage with another digital sage.

    My thought was to have the students embed the videos into glogs or other presentations they create.

    This was a link I used from Heather's list. It allows students to create cartoons. I developed lesson for reviewing one of the most confusing topics for periodic table. Only low point is students cannot save work on this site.
