    I used this clip in my lesson plan for semi-permeable membranes as "motivation" for sparking interest in the subject. The main question: What happens to your fingertips when you've had them under the water for too long? Why? This can lead into conversation at the molecular level (i.e. osmosis).

    It looks like UVA has a rather large K-12 Engineering Outreach. Reading through the material it looks like the only stuff available outside of the adjacent counties is through virtual or their teaching kits. Either way it could be pretty cool. And maybe with enough persistence, you could get an outreach to your school from some of the undergrads at UVA.

    Ipads and Ipods are becoming a huge part of education. Unfortunately there are a limited amount of devices in my school, but whenever I can get them, my students love playing and creating on IOS devices. At the EdTech conference this year, they discussed BYOD (bring your own devices). I thought this was an interesting way to keep students up to date without stressing the schools budget.

    This interactive site provides links to THE NROC Project, Phoenix college, KHAN Academy, PhET, and STEM bite. The resources use digital media that incorporates lessons for science and math. Students are able to learn concepts and apply the skills needed to show their understanding of these concepts. Students are given assessments on this site that check for understanding.

    I like to share the resources that I find with other colleagues and educators.  Building a website has allowed that to be easy.  It took quite a bit of time, but maintaining it is easy and I utilize Edmodo quite a bit, along with Pinterest to add to my collection of resources.
