    A website of "green maps" of locations around the world that site green businesses and locations. Anyone can make a green map of their local area. They developed an award winning iPhone app that allowed users to share their locations and receive information about sustainable places in their areas. I have not found the iPhone app in Canada, perhaps it still exists in America.

    Hitchcock Center at Hampshire College opened the first "living building" in New England. Some of the requirements to meet the living building standards include: net zero energy & water, use of locally-sourced and non-toxic materials, and other green criteria.     This is actually an amazing company with the vision of creating sustainable solar electric cars. I have a friend who owns their roadster and it is amazing to ride in. The cars are VERY expensive now but I am hoping they will be more affordable in the future. The company's CEO is Elon Musk, http://elonmusk.com/ who I believe is a very interesting character in the "Green" world.

    Here is another company building fully sustainable, fully "green" buildings. Last I heard from one of the founders who has been a long-time friend and mentor to me, they are piloting an Eco Dome Community in Japan. I loved Wilde's post about Earthship Biotecture and it reminded me of the eco domes.

    I love the dome shape! We live in a circular house that is much like the dome and it feels very different than living in a "box".
