I think this would be a fun alternative to the traditional book report. Students are introduced to the five story elements in Session One. In Session Two students use Comic Creator Student Interactive to create a six-frame comic strip to map story elements from a story they have read.

I used this with the 4th grade class last year and they LOVED it!

I chose this lesson/activity because the 3rd grade creates biography presentations and since we are now a K-8 school this would be a great idea to get different age groups to work together.

I'm going to be sure to pass this along because I can see this fitting right in with our new reading/writing curriculum.

My 4th and 5th graders last year were really into the Percy Jackson series. There are lots of lesson plans and ideas here that could be used to build on that interest and connect with multiple subject areas while doing so.
