This is an awesome website where students can investigate all different aspects about earthquakes, play games, pictures, facts, a place to ask questions. Earthquakes are one of the most interesting things that kids like to learn about, especially living here in WA.

This is the National Geographic Kids site. Lots of Articles, Photos and Videos. Great for Science connections and non fiction literature connections.

This is Nasa's website on Earth Science. It is excellent for researching different topics in Earth Science. It is also full of fun games and activities for the students to do.

Ideas on using blogs and wikis with kids

Kizui is a downloadable kid safe web browser. Teachers, or parents, can download this browser and let children roam free on the site without worrying that something inappropriate might come up. This is similar to other search engines with a tool bar at the top that has links tailored to children's interests. On this tool bar you will find links to music, videos, games, homework help, and other things that might they might want to explore. This site is most appropriate for elementary aged students.

This site has videos about conservation and ecological awareness. It addresses questions such as, "What kind of world will be here when you grow up? YOUR future is affected by what happens to wildlife and nature today. Learn how to protect your future." They also are having contest for kids' videos about animals, nature, or ideas for protecting our environment.

The kids in my placement just love this website. They are so into poetry and writing/reading it. This website has several aspects where you can read poetry, play word games, tutorials on different types of poetry writing.

This is a great website for health information and interactive games about nutrition and the food pyramid.

This is an excellent tool to help kids learning the 50 states and capitals. This is specifically useful in 5th grade as they are studying the states and the capitals.

This is a really comprehensive, university-based math site. It is free, and no membership is required to access the resources, which are include help with math content, puzzles, discussion groups, and an annotated internet math library. There are sections for kids, teachers, parents, and researchers.

This is a great site for RTI resources and lots of great ideas and solutions.

This website is an online resource for grades Pre-K through 12. The information is divided into grades, and then into subject matter. Information compiled is divided into many types - audio, video, lesson plans, slideshow, etc.

This site is full of resources for teachers including video clips, lesson plans and more. Resources are available for grades Pre K- 12th.
