This is a tutorial for using an Activboard. The narrator is creating videos of his screen while he is talking about how he uses the Activboard to do things such as hiding and revealing text.

According to the authors, "this guide was written especially for educators, who want to teach 21st century skills, such as collaborating, communicating, and connecting, through digital storytelling." I haven't read it yet, but it looks like it is interesting and I look forward to reading it. The book costs $8.50, but can be downloaded for free.

Educational, interactive movies covering many subjects for students in K-8. They include games and quizzes. Each movie has a list of the key concepts it covers. The movies I previewed were animated and narrated by a choppy sounding voice like it was computer generated. Free.

This is a platform for ideas. It is for combining online sticky note services, such as Wallwisher with collaborative mind mapping functions. You can create a wall of multimedia sticky notes that can include videos and images that you pull from other online services. You can also upload media from your desktop to your sticky notes. Free.

The creators of this video are featured on the TV program Sunday Morning regularly. They draw, write and speak very quickly all at the same time, explaining various concepts that relate to news. It is little bit tricky to follow without paying full attention because it moves so fast, but that is what makes it so interesting. It should keep students fully engaged. Free.

This site has videos about conservation and ecological awareness. It addresses questions such as, "What kind of world will be here when you grow up? YOUR future is affected by what happens to wildlife and nature today. Learn how to protect your future." They also are having contest for kids' videos about animals, nature, or ideas for protecting our environment.

This blog can be used for educational blogging. It can be used to facilitate discussions, replace paper newsletter, help students start blogging, create publication in school and to post podcasts and documents.

This is an eight-part documentary about the history of The West going back to 28,000 BC. This series was created for public television. It is filled with photographs of the landscape, interviews with its people. It includes lesson plans and quizzes. I especially liked the interactive time-line.
