This site is suitable for students in elementary and middle school for practicing their math skills. Students can work in areas such as measurement, data, and algebraic concepts. One of the best things about this site is the illustrated math dictionary. The dictionary provides students with visual representations and examples for hundred of terms. Many of these are similar to examples a textbook might give for introducing a concept. The site also provides worksheets, games, and a wide variety of different puzzles.
This website offers math practice with fractions, money, geometric shapes, algebra, order of operations and a variety of other topics. Students can access flashcards and simply practice doing many types of math. There are some pretty nice games as well.
This is a fabulous site, but unfortunately it cost $60 per year to have full access. One pro is that there is absolutely no advertising and the material is very well organized. This site provides content mainly for younger children in preschool or early elementary. The site says they are "infant games," but I'm not sure too many children under one that could do any of these activities. At the homepage, you have two choices. Access either numeracy for math related practice or literacy for reading and word practice. The site also provides additional links for student practice. In addition, there are some printable resources. One drawback to this site is that it contains a great deal of advertising which is maybe why it has some pretty good content for free.
This is an interactive map of the world. Students click once on places they have been, twice on places they have lived, and three times on places they want to visit. Virtual Tourist also has additional interactive maps on their main website. Need to register with the site to get full access to all features.

Here is a valuable website for classroom resources that can also be sorted by grade level. In addition, there are additional links for students and parents as well. The site provides a teacher discussion group and opportunities for professional development.
The Info Please site provides the same type of information as the traditional almanac. It is great for current events, statistical information, or facts about a wide variety of topics. One drawback for this site when using it with students is that it has advertising banners.
