This is a really cool website for students and/or adult s who are either an ESL student, studying English as a foreign language or who just want to brush up on their English. This website offers everything from games to pronunciation to slang and idioms. This site can also be used in the classroom to help students studying specific components of English such as figurative language. Students can practice what they have learned by taking the quizzes or play a word game. While searching through this website I actually learned a few new things! This website really does have everything!

Edhelper Literature Units - 0 views

  •
Edhelper.com has a lot of very good literature units for almost any popular novel that is studied in school. Earlier in the year in reading my students read The City of Ember and I was able to find the literature unit on Edhelper. Within the unit you can customize pretty much everything from vocabulary lists to crossword puzzles to even quizzes. You can also choose how much or how little you want to include in the unit. I find that these worksheets make nice comprehension reviews for students. One downfall to Edhelper is that you do need a membership but I do find that it is worth it.

Class Tools Game Creator - 3 views

This website has a plethora of games that teachers can customize. You can choose from about 22 different types of games and interactive organizers and input all kinds of information that you want students to be challenged on. The games and organizers are great to use as a review for students as well as having the students create a game as part of a project or assessment. The games and organizers can be saved to a webpage or embedded into a blog or webpage (possibly even Moodle although I haven't tried it yet). One added bonus to this website is that it is free and you don't have to sign in by creating a log in or password!

This website allows students and teachers to create imaginary Facebook pages for study purposes. Within the site you can choose from historical people such as Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill or Queen Elizabeth. Students can create a profile for their person and choose their "friends." They can also add posts and comments to their person's Fakebook page. This website can be used for book reports, character plots from novels, historical moments and many more educational purposes.

Math Graphic Organizers - 1 views

This website does require a $20 membership per year but has a lot of useful resources. When people think of graphic organizers they don't always think of using them for math. This website has a lot of graphic organizers that are specifically applicable to math.

On Track Spelling - 3 views

This is a website that offers differentiated spelling lists for students. What is really cool about the website is that it has different skill activities that are very nonlinguistic and helps students make connections and applications with the spelling words.
