This project seeks to transform our classrooms and schools by transforming the way teachers are trained. Future teachers gain direct experience with global learning networks as they engage in dialogue with their peers about teaching in the 21st century. The Future Teachers forum is a meeting place for university professors of education and the future teachers in their classes. Three kinds of discussions take place: 1) future teachers from around the world compare perspectives on creating effective and equitable schools and classrooms that will better meet the needs of all students, 2) future teachers share their reflections as they learn first-hand about iEARN's projects as facilitators, observers, or participants, and 3) professors of teacher education exchange ideas and resources for integrating global learning networks into their courses in different content areas. The Future Teachers Project was launched during the 1999 iEARN annual conference in Puerto Rico and has been developed collaboratively during subsequent iEARN conferences to offer future teachers direct experience with innovative technology use and global learning early in their careers.

Humanity Against Hunger In the Humanity Against Hunger web module, students become volunteers to help solve the severe food shortage faced in Africa. Through the interactive experience, students learn how nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus deficiencies can stunt plant growth in multiple ways. They also learn that replenishing the land with fertilizer can help farmers achieve higher crop yields to feed more people.

Teaching and Learning for a Sustainable Future is a UNESCO programme for the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development. It provides professional development for student teachers, teachers, curriculum developers, education policy makers, and authors of educational materials.

Tremont first grade classrooms partnered with H2O for Life, an organization that helps find solutions to the water crisis around the world. The first graders learned to become global citizens. Students at Tremont learned that while we are all different, together we can make the world a better place.

Global Action Week is an annual week of action that calls attention to the urgent need to invest in the future of the millions of out-of-school children around the world. Global Action Week activities take place in more than 100 countries as part of a coordinated effort by the Global Campaign for Education. Global Action Week 2013 in 2013 is April 20-26, and focuses on the importance of educators if we are to ensure a quality education for all. Over 200 million children under the age of 5 in low- and middle-income countries will not attain their development potential due to poverty, nutritional deficiencies, and inadequate care and learning opportunities.

IndyKids is a free newspaper, website and teaching tool that informs children about current news and world events from a progressive perspective and inspires a passion for social justice and learning. It is geared toward kids in grades 4 to 7.

Still, the six year old kept doing chores around his parents' house, even after he learned it could take him years to earn enough money. But when Ryan's well was built, life in the village changed for the better. A young orphan named Akana Jimmy longed for a chance to thank Ryan in person for this gift of life -- clean water. When they finally meet, an unbreakable bond unites these boys from very different backgrounds, and a long and sometimes life-threatening journey begins. Color Me Healthy is a program developed to reach children ages four and five with fun, interactive learning opportunities on physical activity and healthy eating. It is designed to stimulate all of the senses of young children: touch, smell, sight, sound, and, of course, taste. Through the use of color, music, and exploration of the senses, Color Me Healthy teaches children that healthy food and physical activity are fun.

The Last Survivor is an award winning, feature-length documentary film that presents the stories of four Survivors and their struggle to make sense of tragedy by working to educate a new generation, inspire tolerance and spark a civic response to mass atrocity crimes. Following the lives of survivors of four different genocides and mass atrocities - The Holocaust, Rwanda, Darfur, and Congo - The Last Survivor presents a unique opportunity to learn from the lessons and mistakes of our past in order to have a lasting social impact on how we act collectively in the face of similar issues which still exist today.
