After being instructed, students loved to be tested--not necessarily a summative assessment. I picked this site because it presents some interesting educational games. This would be helpful for teachers because it provides short games/quizzes, which serve as fun evaluators for understanding concepts.

Science (1): This website contains science-themed units that can be used by teachers on a variety of topics. A majority of them cover topics for elementary-aged students; however, there is a section for high school science as well. There are multiple-choice quizzes that can be printed that teachers could use as an assessment tool to test a student's knowledge before a subject is taught, etc. It is user-friendly and contains a lot of material for teachers to use.

I like this resource because it offers a creative way to check for understanding and reading comprehension in students. It is free and allows the teacher to create their own questions, quizzes, and more. This would be a great tool to utilize in my classroom to incoroporate technology to check students reading comprehension, understanding, and if they are actually reading.

This would be a great tool for teacher to get quizzes and work sheets for their students. It's a great site for anyone who is in the education field to help kids read and write.

Language Arts/Reading (1): This website is a useful teacher resource. It includes classroom strategies, reading guides, and tips on how to help struggling readers. This website is very credible and has sections for teachers, principals, librarians, parents, and other professionals. Reading Rockets has produced several shows on PBS and those are posted on this website as well. They include a variety of topics about reading. This website would be a useful tool to use in my future classroom because it contains newsletters with new and relevant topics regarding reading that are research-based (dyslexia, closing the literacy gap, etc.).

Math (1): This website is for teachers, students, and parents. It is an online community meant to connect people to resources, answer questions, etc. about math topics. Students can get on the website and ask math questions, take quizzes, solve puzzles, etc. Parents can get on the site and find help for their student. Teachers can join forums and share lesson plans with other math professionals and sign up for conferences. The website sells study books for students, too. As a teacher, this would be a great resource to give to families who may have a student that is struggling in math or that doesn't find math very interesting, etc.

PE Central: Web Sites for Kids - 0 views

  •
I love this site because of the VAST amount of information on it! It can be so hard to know when doing something like P.E. what to do to teach the skill and then, with such a wide range of skills and abilities, how to assess the skills you've taught. This give you ideas for lessons, bulletin boards, assessments, adapted P.E., and so much more.
  •
I love PE central as it has different lesson plans and quizzes and ideas that pe teachers came up with and uploaded for others to use. I also, like it because if i came up with a game that worked and students loved i can upload it and other teachers can use it for their class.

  •
Quiz Hub is a website that consists of quizzes. But they are formatted to feel like a game even though they don't look like one.

This website has all kinds of information about the U.S. and its history that can be learned through the taking of quizzes. The website provides an interesting way of finding out how much one knows about their country and also provides students with the information that they may not have previously known.

KidsHealth in the Classroom offers educators free health-related lesson plans for all grades and subject areas. Each Teacher's Guide includes discussion questions, activities, and reproducible handouts and quizzes - all aligned to national health education standards.
  •
This offers a lot of options for health and physical education on this site. It even had a lesson on dental care. Students need to know how to take care of their bodies and overall health I think I would be able to use this site to teach students about taking care of themselves. It would give me ideas that I may not even think of on my own.
