This site has all types of games in many subject areas to engage students in their learning. The website also has games that go along with great books that are out currently.
  •
Education Game I selected this website because it has a lot of games suited for elementary students. Also, it includes comics for students to read, instead of playing games. This website focuses more on reading and math, as it has games only for these two subjects and arcade games. I will use this in the class with the younger grade levels.

Educational Games: This website has more fun games than educational games, but there are a few I really liked. There is a section of games that directly correspond with certain elementary books, such as Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I would use these games at the end of the book as a way to review with the students as well as keep the book fresh in their minds.

this is a great educational site. I would use it for the playground section as it is a favorite of my daughter and she showed me some fun games to play on it, and I liked the reading portion with the mad libs fill ins and games. Mad libs were a favorite of mine as a child and I'm sure kids will have fun creating funny stories.
  •
I love this website, because it would be very appealing to students. This game looks exactly like an arcade game, so students would be interested, because they wont even know how educational it is. I would love to use this in the classroom for a Fun Friday day, so they are still learning, but getting their free time for getting all their hw in on time.

this website provides a variety of lessons for physical education. Not all kids enjoy PE and hate running but this website includes lessons such as steal the flag football, rhythm sticks, cooperative handball and many more. One lesson that stuck out to me was "Juast a minute" where the coach/ teacher reads a book just a minute and they discuss how long a minute is and have the kids close their eyes and put heads down for a minute. (which is hard for younger kids) Then they discuss if their body is healthy they should be able to do any activity for a minute wihtout stopping. This was interesting, the teacher could create any activity for them to do for a minute which is very creative.

This site provides games for many different subjects. When children play games that are fun and educational they don't really realize they are playing a learning game. These games all look fun which will get them interested in playing them. I would probably try to get in a computer lab every once in a while to allow children to play games for each subject to help get them used to using a computer and also to have them learning about all the different subjects.
  •
Educational Games: Students can learn while playing Animal Games, Art Games, Music Games, Math Games, Logic Games, Geography Games, Memory Games, Science Videos, etc. These are very interactive games that allow students to apply what they have learned in class to online games! I chose this as my Educational site. This has several games designed to reach all the grade levels in elementary. A site like this will benefit not only the teacher but the students as well. Depending on what grade I teach in the future, I could use this for as low as Kindergarden or as high as the 5th grade. For Kindergarden and 1st grade, they have a game where the student needs to help out a monkey to put the days of the week in order. The New York Times featured this site as an award-winning games and apps, which is pretty cool.

Kids love to go to the computer lab and they love to play games. With this site you can also make sure that they are practicing math. This is a Math site. I chose this site due to the part that it not only has games, but it has practical ways to reach the students thinking and learning ability. The site has fractions, money, algebra, and graphing so it is appropriate for all ag es. It also gives the student some help on addition, subtraction, and fractions.
  •
A website that can be used at any grade level; however, I would use it as a center rather than a staple part of a lesson. Language Arts/Reading (1): This website is a useful teacher resource. It includes classroom strategies, reading guides, and tips on how to help struggling readers. This website is very credible and has sections for teachers, principals, librarians, parents, and other professionals. Reading Rockets has produced several shows on PBS and those are posted on this website as well. They include a variety of topics about reading. This website would be a useful tool to use in my future classroom because it contains newsletters with new and relevant topics regarding reading that are research-based (dyslexia, closing the literacy gap, etc.).
