Video Of 3D Printed Gun Magazine Shows Off Deadly High-Capacity 'Wiki Weapon' - 1 views

  •
A new video showcasing the future of weapons was released on YouTube today: a enterprising 24-year-old gun enthusiast manufactured his own high-capacity 30-round gun magazine using a 3D printer. Hoping to spread the amateur design of more "Wiki Weapons", the rebellious 24-year-old designer nicknamed the blueprints of the weapon, the "Cuomo," named after New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo, who signed a recent ban on all gun magazines in excess of 7 rounds. Uncharted Territory: The Power of Amateur Cartographers - 0 views

The gradual accumulation of services and data over the years has put Google in something of an untouchable position when it comes to online mapping, which is why when Apple tried to launch its own maps app for iOS devices last year it was so inaccurate and poorly received. "It was a complete disaster because the data they used was just not good enough - they just haven't spent the decades Google has spent just gathering geospatial data," says Brotton, who has worked alongside Google in the past.

"Artist Aaron Koblin takes vast amounts of data -- and at times vast numbers of people -- and weaves them into stunning visualizations. From elegant lines tracing airline flights to landscapes of cell phone data, from a Johnny Cash video assembled from crowd-sourced drawings to the "Wilderness Downtown" video that customizes for the user, his works brilliantly explore how modern technology can make us more human."
