(c) If an institution is offering postsecondary education through distance or correspondence education to students in a State in which it is not physically located or in which it is otherwise subject to State jurisdiction as determined by the State, the institution must meet any State requirements for it to be legally offering postsecondary distance or correspondence education in that State.

Announcing the Formation of the Commission on Regulation of Postsecondary Distance Education Former U. S. Secretary of Education Richard W. Riley and 20 other leaders have been invited to explore the regulation of postsecondary distance education on a new national commission organized by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) and the State Higher Education Executive Officers (SHEEO).

The State Authorization Network - Ohio (SAN-O) is created by the Ohio Board of Regents and Ohio Learning Network, working in conjunction with WCET and their national group State Authorization Network, for the purpose of providing a clearinghouse of information about Federal Regulation on State Authorization of Distance Education that is specific to the needs of Ohio's higher education institutions.
