      Schools are already strapped for money.  Where will the money come from to provide the intensive reading intervention necessary?  What happens to schools who are unable to meet the requirements?

    Great resource! I'm interested to see how the new teacher evaluations play out in the upcoming years. Seems like the majority of superintendents are in favor of changing evaluations but find it difficult to actually implement the more stringent evaluations.

Third Grade Guarantee - 0 views

  • A part of each retained student's plan must be 90 minutes of reading instruction that include the determined interventions. These 90 minutes of reading instruction may occur during regular classroom activities throughout the school day.

      The 90 minute requirement comes from Scientifically Based Reading Research (SBRR) found in the National Reading Panel Report and in the No Child Left Behind legislation passed by Congress in 2001.
