Substitute the word "labels" for prejudice and we have the same result!

A quick review:

1. Recognize your Red Flags
2. Find an out of the box space
3. With your new perspective ponder the situation differently
4. Go do the thing you feel led to do for the other person.

Because we see people as "objects", as an "I-it" rather than an "I-thou". I suppose the culture hasn't adopted those principles because "I" haven't. How many times do I wake up and practice "being the change I want to see in the world."

Even when violence is necessary - you can see people as people!

I know this is thank you Thursday, but today maybe go the extra mile and do something good for someone, relieve somebody's burden, make someone feel good.

Had a great lunch with our discussion group yesterday. Many "boxes" identified and one story in particular won the Box of the Week award. Great work in realizing the presence of the box, the courage to admit it to someone and even greater heroism to do something about it!

Those darn PIR notes that quality sends out. I get myself into a box a box when my name is on many of the PIRs! I get angry, I get defensive; but worst of all I send out notes to my direct reports that make it even worse. Solution:
1. Notice the red flags
2. Realize the burdens & challenges my direct reports are under and how I've contributed to them.
3. Apologize for this - I did that yesterday.
4. Offer to help in any way I can.
