Measuring Worth - Home - 0 views

The worth of monetary transactions is also difficult to measure. While there is a price, wage, or other kind of transaction that can be recorded at a precise price, the worth of the amount must be interpreted.

Interesting Ways | edte.ch - 2 views

"The Interesting Ways to Use series has been really successful. I measure their success in how useful they are to teachers and other educators in helping with professional development. They have been a great example of crowdsourcing good quality classroom ideas and it has been great fun connecting with all of the people who have taken time to add an idea. It is remarkable what can be achieved and created together if you give people the right way to do it. Thanks for all the help so far. It all began with One Idea, One Slide and One Image as a premise for the IWB presentation and that has always remained. I hope we can all continue to create them - let me know if you have any other ideas for a presentation. I wanted to keep the family together in one place and give you one page to see them all, as so many of you have requested. Don't forget that if you want to contribute an idea just let me know and I will give you access to share your thoughts."

Motion and Forces - 0 views

  •
"* The motion of an object can be described by its position, direction of motion, and speed. That motion can be measured and represented on a graph. * An object that is not being subjected to a force will continue to move at a constant speed and in a straight line. * If more than one force acts on an object along a straight line, then the forces will reinforce or cancel one another, depending on their direction and magnitude. Unbalanced forces will cause changes in the speed or direction of an object's motion. (NSES, 1996) Here you will find a list of recommended "learning tools" for this standard. All links are in yellow, just click the link. "

There is a free trial version of the materials in the National Library of virtual manipulatives. Math topics Numbers and Operations, Algebra, Geometry, Measurement and Data Analysis & Probablity are covered. I did not come across anything asking for money so I a not certain there is a cost. Math Apprentice - 0 views

  •
Math Apprentice answers the question that nearly every student will ask during his or her math career: When are we ever going to use this stuff in the real world? Sure, there are some obvious real world connections. Money, time, and measurement are all very relevant concepts. Other areas of math, such as number theory and functions, are more cryptic and can seem disconnected from real life. Math Apprentice reveals the connections by showing students how math is used in a variety of interesting professions.

LoTi Framework at drchrismoersch.com - 0 views

  •
"In 1994, Dr. Christopher Moersch developed the Levels of Technology Implementation (LoTi) scale in an effort to accurately measure authentic classroom technology use. This scale focuses on the use of technology as an interactive learning medium because this particular component has the greatest and lasting impact on classroom pedagogy and is the most difficult to implement and assess. The challenge is not merely to use technology to achieve isolated tasks (e.g., word processing a research paper, creating a multimedia slide show, browsing the Internet), but rather to integrate technology in an exemplary manner that supports purposeful problem-solving, performance-based assessment practices, and experiential learning--all vital characteristics of the Target Technology level established by the CEO Forum on Education and Technology."
