Cover It Live is a Web-based program that allows educators to have live discussions-or chats- online for free. Many education bloggers have found the site useful because it allows them to embed discussion threads directly into a personal Web space. Rather than having to rely on a static comment thread for reader feedback, Cover It live adds a real-time element to blogging discussions. The online interface includes features that allow users to upload and share multimedia files, including videos, photos, Web links, and group polling data. An added featue lets Twitter users access the conversation and conribute "tweets," or short comments, that they've posted on the microblogging site Twitter. Late participants can also instantly replay a conversation after it has ended. To set up a conversation, a group moderator must register and create the forum space; then anyone can join without having to register for the service.

I had a conversation with the bot and it is very intuitive. The dialog was about age, manners and politeness. It was very kool to be able to converse with this automated being and I believe that the very quick and smart responses will engage the kids. Have fun with this one. It is for communications skills.

Calculator Soup collects all sorts of online calculators in one free site. Calculators range from basic to complicated and have specific functions like conversion, time, finance, and chemistry. A great tool for students who do not have specific calculators or forget them.

Cloudworks is a social networking site for finding, sharing and discussing learning and teaching ideas and designs. A Cloud can be anything to do with learning and teaching. Each Cloud is 'social' in that it is possible to have a conversation around the Cloud. A Cloud could be: a short description of a learning and teaching idea, information about resources or tools for learning and teaching, detailed learning designs or case studies of practice or a question as a starting point for a discussion. Clouds can be aggregated into 'Cloudscapes' associated with a particular event, purpose or interest. For example you can have Cloudscapes associated with a conference aggregating Clouds about conference presentations or tools and resources referenced. A Cloudscape can be set up for a workshop where Clouds might include workshop resources, tools or activities. Cloudscapes can also be more general for example to stimulate debate about a particular teaching approach. Clouds can be associated with more than one Cloudscape.
