This site is a new multimedia project featuring free interactive adventure games set throughout U.S. history. The first game, Mission 1: For Crown or Coloni? puts players in the shoes of Nat Wheeler, a 14 year old printer's apprentice in 1770 Boston. As players complete tasks throughout the city, they meet everyone from merchants to soldiers, sailors to poets, Patriots to Loyalists. The game reveals rising tensions threatening to come to a head, and, ultimately, players must choose where their loyalties lie. Teachers can use the website to manage classes and track student progress.

"Mission US is a multimedia project featuring free interactive adventure games set in different eras of U.S. history. The first game, Mission 1: "For Crown or Colony?," puts the player in the shoes of Nat Wheeler, a 14-year-old printer's apprentice in 1770 Boston. As Nat navigates the city and completes tasks, he encounters a spectrum of people living and working there when tensions mount before the Boston Massacre. Ultimately, the player determines Nat's fate by deciding where his loyalties lie. Mission 2, "Flight to Freedom" (working title), which focuses on resistance to slavery, will launch in spring of 2011. Other missions, as well as a broadcast special, are planned for release in 2012."

One of the wonders of the Internet is that it can bring the world to you instead of your needing to find the time and money to explore the traditional way. The following virtual tours bring opportunities to explore cities, famous landmarks and buildings, museums, college campuses, and even outer space. You can learn how things are made, explore the human body or that of a life-sized whale, and visit ball parks and theme parks. There is even a section of incredible virtual tours that Google Earth has compiled that shares the world in a whole new way.

"This blog is designed to promote the work of students in Room 8 at Melville Intermediate School. This school is located in the city of Hamilton in the Waikato Region of New Zealand. This project is designed for 2nd and 3rd grade students studying York County geography and history. Through videoconferencing technology, your class will meet students in other classes while learning about different parts of York County! Prior to the videoconference each classroom will add information to this York County wiki with clues about their city, town, and school district. The other classrooms, using maps, the Internet, textbooks, and other resources, will try to discover the location of each participating classroom. Each class will get a chance to guess, "Where in York County Are YOU?"

History matters is a database of coursework, guides, and primary-source documetns on topics in American history, History Matters was produced by two academic programs at the City Unviersity of New York and George Mason University. The site is most useful for high school history teachers and studetns, and educators can use it as a professional-development resource.
