I have used and have seen this used. It is like a PowerPoint but web based. Presentations can be embedded.

Inanimate Alice an online graphic novel for ages 10-14, includes teacher resources. It also addresses the CC standard Analyze how visual and multimedia elements contribute to the meaning, tone, or beauty of a text (e.g.,graphic novel, multimedia presentation of fiction, folktale, myth, poem).

Virtual field trips (VFTs) are alternatives to more costly real-world field trips. In addition to being inexpensive, they are engaging to students becasue they enable students to make connections between themselves and the wide-ranging environments they can explore virtually. They also offer authentic, inquiry-based learning experiences to students.
