This is a collection of Internet Safety and Cyberbullying Resources provided by Iowa's Keystone Area Education Agency. I highlighted the two websites that I currently use to teach about  Cyber Citizenship, which are Cybersmart and Professor Garfield: Internet Safety and You.

This collection is one to bookmark and use. Different levels of resources.

Updates are needed to the school's policy by July 1, 2012 to indicate that they are teaching internet safety.

This makes sense! Kids that have Facebook write more on a daily basis than they ever have before. It may not be in the correct form because they use shortened versions of words, but at least they are using their minds to form sentences! Kids meet new friends along the way and add them to their network. That's not to say they should be "aware" of who are real friends and who shouldn't be their friends. This article shows that kids have more confidence than they used to! Great article!

Net Smartz is a site targeting teens about internet safety. Teacher materials also available.

There are some excellent sites here to use to teach kids how to be a safe and ethical cyber citizen

The original site of cybercitizenship.org has some good resources for teachers, students and parents like the one that is bookmarked more for the elementary age.
