When I tried to use one of the Google Docs templates, I had difficulty changing the template. For example, I tried and tried to change "Mrs. Smith" in the sidebar to "Mrs. Little". I was not successful. Anyone know of tips for me?

Luckily, you can create a template from any existing Google Docs document. Start either by choosing an existing document, spreadsheet, presentation, and form or create a blank one. Then, edit the contents of a document whichever way you see fit.

I just read this, too! I like the idea of keeping notes from department meetings in a google doc that can be shared within the department, since I tend to lose separate emails in my inbox.
I don't know if this has been added, but there should be professional development for google apps application to the classroom. Look through all the slides and you will find familiar items related to every classroom. There are ideas for using google docs as a way of keeping record of journal entries, sharing scores with parents, and even signing up parents for conferences.
