    Tool Name: Padlet www.padlet.com

As Lauren discussed, one of my favorite tools for collaboration is Padlet. Padlet is a virtual space that allows users to post text, images, videos, and audio recordings. As Lauren mentioned, the setup mimics a bulletin board. When you are designing your own Padlet there are a lot of different features that you can select from. You can allow your Padlet to have different preset themes for your background or you can upload your own pictures or pictures from internet. You can also save a template of previously created Padlets for future use. Padlet is also a very user-friendly program. The students in my class and their parents picked up this program very quickly.

One way that I use it in my classroom is for students to post things that they did over the weekend. These post are shared on Monday so that students can learn more about one another. This allows all of the students to share their interests and adventures that they went on in one space. They have gotten very creative with their posts. They started off by just listing three things they did in text to slowly adding pictures and then videos. Here is a link to the parent letter that I use if you would like it https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OsNzWkvU5zQWyTJ_Rel-ky6k5q8i_4H93iwYFe0ZWAE/edit?usp=sharing

I could also see this program being used as an exit slip where students could respond to a question(s) at the end of a lesson. Another idea for this program would be to use it as a discussion forum. You could create unit themed Padlets where students can list any questions that they have during a unit. This would allow a teacher to respond to students quickly. It can also let a teacher see if a group of students aren't understanding a topic;therefore, they can think about if this area needs to be retaught in a different manner. Finally, I was thinking about creating a Padlet for parents to use. This could be a place where they could list any questions they had for the teacher about curriculum or upcoming school events.
