A South Carolina girl kidnapped by her mother when she was just 10 months old has been found alive in Australia, 19 years after she went missing.

I believe that when it comes to catching pedophiles, ethics aren't as important, and I don't morally question the actions of the FBI. Many sites similar to the one created exist already anyway,with the same content, and to provide just one more site for two weeks in order to identify and hinder thousands of pedophiles from actual intentions of sexually assaulting a minor is an ethical action. Enabling child pornography for two weeks is better than letting thousands of pedophiles with intentions of sexual assault off the hook.

I found this article very interesting, and the idea of rating movies based on gender bias, in my opinion, is a good one. I was really surprised by the films the author mentioned that had failed the Bechdel Test ("The entire Lord of the Rings trilogy, all Star Wars movies, The Social Network, Pulp Fiction and all but one of the Harry Potter movies). The Bechdel test seems very cool and could promote more gender equality in films, and I really really support the idea, but I feel that the test should make the film meet more/other standards other than: two named female characters talking about something other than a man", because that just does not convey the nature of gender equality in the film fully. Other than that, the idea of rating films by gender bias has long been needed, and I hope this spreads gender equality awareness in more films.

Remote presence robots are allowing physicians to "beam" themselves into hospitals to diagnose patients and offer medical advice during emergencies, which seems very interesting and useful, but how will it affect the patient-doctor relationship? These Telepresence robots will seem much more distance and make the hospital experience very impersonal,in my opinion. And perhaps, once doctors notice the ease of this device for them ( since they could work from the comfort of their own home), less hours will be spent at the hospital, which would majorly change all patient's and just general hospital experience.

This was an interesting article to read, but I agree with Avi. Though the intentions of this technology mean well, it will have a lot of negative effects on our society. First of all, it will make children less responsible and independent, leading them into a false sense of security and a mentality of " I can take all the risks I want, if I'm in trouble I can just press that button". Second, it will add on to the already fast spreading trend of electronics for young children, which has been proven by many studies to be harmful to them. Despite this, I do believe that a parent would definitely feel more secure knowing where their child is at all times and being able to reach them, but at what price? I feel like it could really negatively impact these young children later on in their lives, through that false sense of security, and also dependance on parents.

" Is Glenn Greenwald the Future of News?" is a very well written article defending and explaining a lot of strong points from both sides. Personally, I agree with Glenn Greenwald; it is impossible to keep one's bias out of journalism, and so perfect impartial journalism is simply impossible to reach. We unintentionally, through our word choice, sentence structure and tone, will always reveal our unconscious bias. But even though we cannot achieve pure impartial journalism, I believe we should still try our best to write without our bias opinions, as much as possible, to keep journalism as a more truthful and factual medium, not one overloaded with opinions.
