Sustainable Education

The programme is unique in exploring both environmental education and development education in the context of education for sustainability.

These guidelines and recommendations from UNESCO have been devised by an International Network of 30 teacher education institutions from around the world. The main aim is to show how teacher education institutions can be re-orientated to address ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) objectives.

Teaching and Learning for a Sustainable Future is a multimedia teacher education programme published by UNESCO. It contains 100 hours (divided into 25 modules) of professional development for use in pre-service teacher courses as well as the in-service education of teachers, curriculum developers, education policy makers, and authors of educational materials.
