My first bookmark for this week is a more generic, but I think it is awesome. This website gives you links to 10 apps teachers can use for lesson planning! Now you do not have to fuss with papers and this is a great use of technology for the benefit of the classroom.

I love this weekly lesson plan template! It contains room for mapping out the day during each subject area, room for the objectives at the bottom of each day, room for standards met, room for materials needed, and room for assessments. Unfortunately, there is not a section for revision ideas, but that can always be written in by hand.

This is a cool site. Evernote allows students to log on to see the daily lesson plan. Students are not surprised by what is going to happen in class that day.

I love this activity so much! It covers multiple standards, but the one I am focusing on is 1.M.3. For this activity, students combine their skills of telling time AND finding the value of money(coins). I would not glue the coins to the clock like the directions say because I would want the students to be able to find multiple ways of using coins to find different times on the clock.

This is a good weekly lesson plan template for a school that might have 8 periods. If not 8 periods you could easily alter it to make it adaptable for your school

Traditional teacher professional development depends on external training handed down to teachers after having identified their weaknesses as a professional. If you're not so great at teacher writing, or if assessment is becoming a bigger focus in your school or district, you fill out a growth plan of some sort, attend your training, get your certificates, and repeat until you've got your hours or your school has run out of money to send you to more training.

Teachers are not the only ones who need professional development. Education is a team effort that cannot be relegated solely to teachers.

Learning Games for Kids - Education is part of life. It should be fun and challenging... not boring. Learn while you play games! Kids will have lots of fun with these interactive activities with a choice of different subjects.

What should curriculum really be based on? This is a great site when creating a curriculum. It explains how curriculum is not based on what sounds good or what works best for the teacher but involvement with the students. Letting the be heard. since they are the individuals who are required to learn it. Check it out!

There's a fantastic place way up in Vancouver, Canada called Science World. And we heard a rumor that they had the thickest, bounciest bubbles around. So we asked them how they did it. Here are their recipes for bubbles that not only blow up nice and big, but do tricks and experiments! This activity would go with the standard: K.1.1. Use all senses as appropriate to observe, sort and describe objects according to their composition and physical properties, such as size, color and shape. Explain these choices to others and generate questions about the objects.

In the theme of the month, this fun activity challenges students to write their own creative Scary story. It also falls in line with IDOE Standard 4.W.3.3 in which students are asked to establish an introduction, organize events that unfold naturally, use dialogue and descriptive detail, and employ sensory with sufficient sensory. This activity not only tests their knowledge in this area, it has help steps to guide them!!
