I found this article to be interesting and important. During my second rotations, we did home visits for some of the patients returning home, but not for all. My CI was unclear as to why, and I found this article helpful.
This is a RCT that examined an OT community exercise program for the reduction of falls. The program was dubbed Stepping Up program and was multifaceted and included adaptation for those with low vision, and even CBT.
This is an RCT for an OT falls prevention treatment program. In this study, an OT completed a home assessment of each participant and then the participants were randomly assigned to groups in which a home mod program was compared to a home exercise program. The results indicate that the home mod program was more successful at reducing falls.

This is an article I read awhile ago about sexuality and occupational therapy. The basic premise is that authors found that OTs acknowledge sex as an area of occupation that is under-served with the primary reasons being lack of education in the area.
This is paper describes a clinical trial of an occupational therapy home intervention. The authors highlight the notion that literature is lacking in OT in terms of treatment interventions. This home-based program shows promising results for clinical use.
This study examined repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) combined with OT in reduction of spasticity. This is a new approach and the results appear to be promising. It will be interesting to read more about this approach in the future.

As the title states, this is a systematic review of the effectiveness of mirror therapy for UE hemiperisis post stroke. I actually read this at my first rotation and was able to use mirror therapy when treating stroke patients. Form my experience, much depends on consistency.

This is an interesting journal article discussing sleep and play positioning in relation to motor milestone achievement. The results suggest that infant gross motor development may be related to sleep and play positioning and that OTs treating infants may use this information during the evaluation.
