The Actresses Who Played Batgirl - 0 views

  •
In 1956, Bob Kane and Sheldon Moldoff decided Batman and Robin both needed female counterparts in order to stave off the gay rumors about these characters and voila Batwoman appeared, aka Kathy Kane (issue #233 in Detective Comics) for Batman and then in 1961 Batgirl, aka Betty Kane (issue #139 in the Batman comics) appeared as a sidekick for Batwoman. When Julius Swartz took over as editor both of these Batwoman and Batgirl characters were taken out and were replaced in 1967 by the Barbara Gordon 'Batgirl' (issue #359 in Detective Comics). But in this lens, we'll have a look at the wonderful actresses who have played 'Batgirl' over the years in the television series, movies and the animation of all the versions of Batman.

Haba for Babies & Kids - 0 views

  •
HABA is one of the oldest toymakers from Germany. Founded in 1938, HABA has continued to "stand up for the little guy" by making high quality toys and games for babies and young children. In a world where infant safety is more important than ever before, HABA toys are a great choice that will stand the test of time. These are the toys that are passed down through the generations. More recently, HABA has expanded its award-winning line of wooden toys and traditional games to include children's furniture and unique room decorations. These new offerings are still in line with HABA's core mission, which actually can be seen in their name itself. In German, HABA stands for "high quality products and age appropriate materials." HABA also "stands up for the little guy" by supporting small businesses and partnering with boutique retailers rather than the Big Box stores. Clearly, this toy maker values traditional values, in its toys and also in its relationships. That's why we love HABA!

Dress Like Catwoman for Halloween - 0 views

  •
In the 1960s, Catwoman's catsuit was green in color, which was typical of villains of that era. In the 1990s, she usually wore a skintight purple catsuit, before switching to a black PVC catsuit that recalls Michelle Pfeiffer's costume in Batman Returns. In recent years, artists depictions have usually alternated between those two costumes. Ed Brubaker, the writer behind the 2001 revamp of the character, has stated that Selina's current costume was inspired by Emma Peel's iconic leather catsuit in The Avengers TV series. It has a more high tech look, with domino-shaped infrared goggles on her cowl.

The Actors Who Played The Joker - 0 views

  •
One of comic book superhero Batman's arch nemesis The Joker first appeared in the 1940 comic Batman #1 but he didn't appear on tv until 1966 in the Adam West version of Batman. Bob Kane, Bill Finger and Jerry Robinson were the co-creators of The Joker. However once again Bob Kane has a different story about The Joker's creations. The Joker was drawn to look like a photographer of Conrad Veidt as he was in The Man Who Laughs (1928) and the name came from the playing cards which Finger had brought in one day. The Joker has also gone by many other aliases, The Clown Prince of Crime, Red Hood, Jack, Joseph 'Joe' Kerr, Clem Rusty, Mr. Rekoj, Jack White. Be that as it may, let's have a look here at who's played comic book Supervillain The Joker over the years.Like Batman, The Joker will always be a work in progress, so check back from time to time to see what might be different or if there's a new Joker in the mist.

The Actors Who Played Batman - 0 views

In 1938 Action Comics editors was looking for a new comic book superhero similar to Superman, Bob Kane and Bill Finger got together and created that new superhero, Batman! Well according to Bob Kane he had drawn a picture of what he thought the Caped Crusader should look like, however, Frank Foster has a different story. But alas in 1939 the first Batman comic was published and the rest is 'history'. One major difference between Superman and Batman however is the fact that Superman has super powers which comes from his Kryptonian background while Batman is mortal, a simple human being who depends on his 'awesome gadgets'. In this lens we'll look at who's actually played the Caped Crusader over the years on television and the big screen. The Caped Crusader will always be a work in progress, so check back from time to time to see what might be different or if there's a new Batman in the mist.

A flip of the coin is how Harvey Dent/Two-Face always made his decisions, how he got this coin has a few different stories attached to it as well. In some they say it was the coin of a murdered mob boss and it helped convict the guy who ended up disfiguring Dent and in others it belonged to his abusive father. When Dent first appeared in 1942 in comic #66, his name was Harvey Kent but was later changed because they didn't want him confused with

Groovy Crayola Stuff - 0 views

  •
It's not just for back to school anymore, Crayola is a staple in most kids lives whether they notice or not. Just about every crayon & marker on the market sports the famous Crayola logo. In recent years Crayola has stepped up the creativity with some outrageously cool activity kits. From its earliest beginnings, Crayola has been a color company. They came into being when cousins Edwin Binney and C. Harold Smith took over Edwin's father's pigment business in 1885. More than 120 years later, color - along with creativity, learning and most of all, fun - is the hallmark of the Crayola company.

Natural and Organic Skin Care and Beauty for Women - 0 views

  •
This is a compilation of web pages featuring natural and organic skin care, beauty, and green living. I first became interested in this topic from having sensitive skin and seeking gentle skin care products and natural recipes that don't irritate my face. In my work as group administrator of Skin Care for Women, I've had the pleasure of discovering some of the most useful resources Squidoo has to offer on natural skin care and beauty. My hope is that this page will draw more attention to natural and organic skin care and beauty pages on Squidoo. I've also featured general green living lenses to provide a greater context for people interested in green beauty. Natural and organic skin care is not only better for your skin, it's also a great way to take care of the earth.

George Nelson Clocks - 0 views

George Nelson (1908-1986) was a pioneering modernist who ranks with such outstanding American designers as Raymond Loewy, Charles Eames, and Eliot Noyes. Nelson's office produced some of the twentieth century's canonical pieces of industrial design, many of which are still in production: the ball clock, the bubble lamp, and the sling sofa. Nelson also made major contributions to the storage wall, the shopping mall, the multimedia presentation, and the open-plan office system. George Nelson's clocks are timeless & compliment in to both contemporary or retro decor. Adding a stylish clock is a perfect way to accent a room & display a little art!
