YouTube has more tools than just uploading and sharing videos. It allows you to record from your webcam, create photo slide shows, stream live through a Google+ hangout, and edit videos just like the video editor in Windows Live MoveMaker. These tools extends the educational value of YouTube beyond just watching video to using it as a tool for the 4 Cs (creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking)

SafeShare is a website that takes YouTube videos and gets rid of almost ALL of the advertisements and junk around the main video. Safeshare even removes the ads that are often showed before popular videos. Using it is VERY simple and I really don't know why I did not convert all my videos before now. All you do is copy the YouTube link and paste it into Shafeshare.tv (see image below) Then you are given a new link to use instead of the YouTube link. Save that to your favorites and you are set.

Watch2gether is a neat site through which you can watch YouTube videos and host text chats about them at the same time. I've written about the service in the past, but it just got a facelift so I'd like to point it out again. It is really quite easy to use Watch2gether.
