This is the most succinct distillation of U.S. (and Israeli) foreign policy in the Mideast and Northern Africa ("MENA") areas that I have read to date. And it's absolutely spot on. The only major portion omitted is the Israeli ambition to expand its territory drastically to encompass from the Nile River in Egypt to the Jordan River in Southwest Asia and eastward throughout the Arabian Peninsula, whilst becoming the empirical economic and military center of MENA.

Revisiting history: It's amazing to see how far the de-dollarization strategy has progressed since 2009.

Yes. We have an empire in decline. Isn't it about time that our politicians address that reality rather than exchanging barbs about "making America great again" or "America is still great?" The western economic system needs a rework to accommodate the reality that western economies will not continually expand and will instead contract. We need to address the reality that there are no longer enough living wage jobs; is it time to recognize that we don't need for everyone to work and flip to an economic model where the rich subsidize the poor instead of vice versa? And it's past time to recognize that the Cold War is over, downsize the military drastically, and refocus our military on defense rather than projection of power. We have enough nukes to melt down the entire planet; why do we need a large military force to defend the Homeland? No conventional force would dare invade while we still have the nukes. Defense could probably be handled with two ground divisions, one for the continental U.S. and the other dispersed among Hawaii, Alaska, and U.S. territories. Get rid of the aircraft carrier groups; they've been obsoleted by Russia's advanced hypersonic carrier killer missiles, which it has shared with China and looks to be soon sharing with India. Maybe it's time for a new Diigo group, "The Empire in Decline?"

Porter discusses inflation and the disastrous impact the Federal Reserve Bankster Cartel is having on the wealth of Americans.  An interesting chart he provides is the one pricing the Stock Market in GOLD.  Everything should be priced and evaluated in terms of GOLD instead of Federal Reserve paper.  The world would be a better place. there are only two repubican presidential candidates calling for an end of the Bankster Cartel; Ron Paul and Rick Perry.  The rest are with Obama, deep in the Bankster pocket.  Very sad.  But then, the Occupy Wall Street movement is camped out on Wall Street, while the Tea Party movement is Occupying the heart of the Bankster criminal empire - the Federal Reserve Banks.  Both movements seem to be protesting the same criminal Bankster problem.  But OWS has been fooled by the ol "nothing up my sleeve" illusion. excerpt: Here's the fact: America's standard of living is falling at a faster pace today than at any time since the Great Depression. I can only wish that Obama had that much spine. Still, it counts a lot that the author is a founding editor of The American Conservative. I'm glad to see conservatives begin to speak out against the "tail wagging the dog" control Israel has had over U.S. foregein policy. But the last President who attempted to enforce the Foreign Agents Registration Act against the Israel Lobby was Jack Kennedy. Barack Obama is no Jack Kennedy.    

A prediction made over a century ago is coming true. We are watching it happen in our generation.

A classic dissection of the financial collapse of 2008.  Genius! excerpt: EDITOR'S NOTE: The following is adapted from Thomas Sowell's new book, The Housing Boom and Bust. Let us go back to square one to consider the empirical consequences of policies in the housing market. Politicians in Washington set out to solve a national problem that did not exist - a nationwide shortage of "affordable housing" - and have now left us with a problem whose existence is as undeniable as it is painful. When the political crusade for affordable housing took off and built up steam during the 1990s, the share of their incomes that Americans were spending on housing in 1998 was 17 percent, compared to 30 percent in the early 1980s. Even during the housing boom of 2005, the median home took just 22 percent of the median American income. What created the illusion of a nationwide problem was that, in particular localities around the country, housing prices had skyrocketed to the point where people had to pay half their income to buy a modest-sized home and often resorted to very risky ways of financing the purchase. In Tucson, for example, "roughly 60% of first-time home buyers make no down payment and instead now use 100% financing to get into the market," according to the Wall Street Journal. Almost invariably, these locally extreme housing prices have been a result of local political crusades in the name of locally attractive slogans about the environment, open space, "smart growth," or whatever other phrases had political resonance at the particular time and place.

Farrell, Brad Olsen In the first half, George Knapp was joined by author Joseph Farrell, who detailed his research into the possibility that a secret, breakaway civilization was formed by American elites following World War II. He explained that, after the war, the United States was faced with three formidable challenges: escaped Nazis bent on recreating their empire elsewhere, the Cold War, and the UFO phenomenon. The Arab League is dominated by Egypt and the Gulf Coast states, all of which have for decades depended on the U.S. for their ultimate defense. This new joint military force, coming at the same time as a similar force among European nations independent of NATO is coming into existence and the E.U. is rejecting American leadership in the Ukraine and in economic matters and, further supports the appearance that a collapse of the American Empire has begun.   This development will also be viewed with alarm in Israel. The Arab nations have long seethed over Israeli mistreatment of Palestinians and Israeli Arab citizens. Several of the Arab nations fought previous wars against Israel over that issue that the Arabs lost, largely because of poor coordination.  A unified Arab force thus poses a threat to the Israeli government.
