March 8, 2009 Seth's Blog: Return on Design :en:Seth Godin Image via Wikipedia A sense of design seem's to lacking in today's marketing effort's especially on the web - For years I have been fascinated by the Package that markets Alberto-Culver V-05 it seems to have been around forever-http://www.albertovo5.com/ I think this has always been a well branded item- Even their Mission statement is well written -some one understands design and marketing COMPANY The Alberto Culver Company is an innovative leader in consumer products in key markets around the world. Our St. Ives and Noxzema skin care products are brands consumers trust for cleansing, moisturizing and protection. Brands like Mrs. Dash and Static Guard are familiar household staples. Alberto Culver is a small company in comparison to the giant companies with whom we have competed throughout our 50+ year history. Only 2400 employees drive our growth and innovation across the globe. They know that with our size comes some significant advantages - the ability to have outstanding new ideas recognized quickly, the ability to make decisions and move with great speed in developing an idea or adapting to a changing environment, and the ability of each individual to make a difference. That team works in a unique cultural environment that is values based, results driven and family focused. The result of all this has been a consistent record of growth. Alberto Culver is among the fastest growing companies in our categories and has earned the respect of its consumers, its trade customers, its investors and its communities. March 7, 2009 YouTube - Joe Pass - All the Things You Are - Likaholix Joe Pass Joe Pass (via last.fm) I have been also adding Music to my Likaholix page especially music by older Jazz Greats Likaholix Rocks and is so easy to use- Joe Pass recorded a series of albums during the 1960s for the Pacific Jazz label, including the early classics Catch Me, 12-String Guitar, For Django, and Simplicity. In 1963, Pass received Downbeat magazine's "New Star Award". Pass was also featured on Pacific Jazz recordings by Gerald Wilson, Bud Shank, and Les McCann. Pass toured with George Shearing in 1965. Mostly, however, during the 1960s he did TV and recording session work in Los Angeles. He was a sideman with Louis Bellson, Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughan, Joe Williams, Della Reese, Johnny Mathis, and worked on TV shows including the The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, The Merv Griffin Show, The Steve Allen Show, and others. In the early 1970s, Pass and guitarist Herb Ellis were performing together regularly at Donte's jazz club in Los Angeles. This collaboration led to Pass and Ellis recording the very first album on the new Concord Jazz label, entitled simply Jazz/Concord (#CJS-1), along with bassist Ray Brown and drummer Jake Hanna. In the early 1970s, Pass also collaborated on a series of music books, and his Joe Pass Guitar Style (written with Bill Thrasher) is considered a leading improvisation textbook for students of jazz. Norman Granz, the producer of Jazz at the Philharmonic and the founder of Verve Records signed Pass to Granz's new Pablo Records label in 1970. In 1974, Pass released his landmark solo album Virtuoso on Pablo Records. Also in 1974, Pablo Records released the album The Trio featuring Pass, Oscar Peterson, and Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen. At the Grammy Awards of 1975, The Trio won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Performance by a Group. As part of the Pablo Records "stable," Pass also recorded with Benny Carter, Milt Jackson, Herb Ellis, Zoot Sim

Cover via Amazon In social media I follow - Chris Brogan Seth Godin Shel Israel Louis Gray Steve Rubel Lous Gray and more Frank Eliason writes from Industry and is a very unselfish contributor to advancing Social Media , early risers always have more than one job-his articles are written on the mark and with a clear message- "Quote from Frank Eliason" Time to be Frank A fun place where I can share thoughts on a variety of topics in my life! What do you get when you add together Ian Schafer, Brian Morrissey and Gary Vaynerchuk? A lively discussion on social media and business participation. Immediately when I viewed the video on Friday I knew I wanted to take the opportunity to share it here. Not only are they great minds when it comes to social media, they make points that every business needs to hear. A few weeks ago I did a presentation about business blogging and the person that represents that to me? GaryVee. Not that every business should act the same way he does, that is not the point of social media. We should not try to be someone we are not. In my opinion the key to Gary's success is his passion. That is what it is all about. I have a passion for Customer Service, and that comes out in everything I do." This is more than an ordinary post it tell's a sad story in a few well chosen words! I also follow on my Tabbloid Fred Wilson Gotham Gal Steve Rubel and more ! Gotham Gal is one of my wife's favorites she gives you Scrapple from the Apple "Scrapple from the Apple" is a bebop composition by Charlie Parker, commonly regonized today as a jazz standard, written in F major. The song borrows its chord progression from "Honeysuckle Rose", a common practice for Parker, as he based many of his successful tunes over already well-known chord changes.tabbloid_2009-01-10_0901-gotham-gal I use Scrapple from the Apple Above Since Gotham Gal has among other things great food features Now Scrapple , Scrapple is a savory mush of pork scraps and trimmings combined with cornmeal and flour, often buckwheat flour. The mush is formed into a loaf, and slices of the scrapple are then fried before serving. Scraps of meat left over from butchering, not used or sold elsewhere, were made into scrapple to avoid waste. Scrapple is best known as a regional American food of Delaware, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland. I just installed Bill's Israel's Latest Redesigned Tumble Theme ! I like the bar at the bottom to display all information my Lijit Widget Installed beautifully ! Mr Israel is a master of Type Font Art ! I wish he would design a Word press theme ! The use of Type to display talent is an art ! He can be found @ cubicle1.com. I finished a redesign of cubicle17 a few weeks ago, and as is my policy, I am making my old theme available for free to one and all. With nicely-sized, readable text, plenty of white space, and an elastic one-column design, Simplification is not only one of my simpler themes (which might be saying a lot), but it's also one of my favorites. If you're in the market for a new theme, give Simplification a look. Update: a couple of minor issues were found after posting this, so if you've applied this theme already, please update to the latest version. cubicle17.com is the work of Bill Israel. Bill lives in St Louis, MO with his wife and cat, pays the bills by developing software, makes Tumblr Themes, and is available for client work. bill.israel@gmail.com marshal sandler .com.

Marketing your blog on Twitter | Janet Fouts - 0 views

Marketing your blog on Twitter Thu, May 7, 2009Social Media Tips and Tricks Marketing your blog on Twitter is easy right? You just post a link to it and the Tweeple come running to read it. Maybe, and maybe not. There's a lot more to it than that. First and foremost who are you talking to? Are the people in your Twitter network interested in the topic? If you're going outside of your Twitter networks area of interest it's much less likely to be seen. Look for somebody on Twitter who is focused in that area and Tweet it to them, ask their opinion or ask for a re-tweet so you can be seen in their network. About the title You want it to be short and to the point for a couple of reasons. Search engines love keywords and if your title is full of off topic words it's not going to do you any favors. Your title needs to capture attention on Twitter and still leave room for people to re-tweet it to their own networks on Twitter too. For some great tips on how to write a title that will get you noticed, read copyblogger's post. Timing

Top Digg User Zaibatsu Banned - Reactions from Both Zaibatsu and Digg Management | Drupal - 0 views

WARNING: Mild profanity appears once at the other end of this link. (Word for excrement used to indicate that something is objectionably nonsensical) News about Zaibatsu, who was Digg's top user at the time of his banning. Message of the story: anybody who submits a link to Digg is at the mercy of the owner of the site at the other end of the link, because Digg will not listen to any explanations, no matter how reasonable, and no matter how innocent the action taken on the part of the user. Something for any SU user who likes GigaOm's suggestion of a Digg acquisition of Stumbleupon (linked to, below) to think about, because that very activity is at the core of what almost all SU users do.
