During the course of compiling the information for this assignment I connected my recent experience in Geneva with another conference that I attended in Nairobi a year ago. I wondered who started the PLC for Connect2change only to realize it was a gentleman that I just met at the July, IUHPE conference where I presented my oral abstract. What is interesting is that social movements are connected through community. The difference is that a year ago the HPR Web 2.0 tools were barely used by the participants. I personally see that the growth is now powerful and we are using PLC's as a way to share common values within the community. The question derived from the latest conference was "Are we smart at social change?". I feel that PLC's are a way to focus and sharpen our social skills into motion.
"Initially we were not sure of the success of this program but now we realize and understand that this is a very useful program. Now we can solve problems by communicating with others. We have undergone a massive change of attitude. This is much better than any other training." (Page 34)
I feel that Mobile Learning Communities will grow exponentially over the next few years. I felt this peer review article explained further research to be done with regards to expanding the mobile learning outcomes.
This dissertation is a research study conducted by Robert Miller at Northcentral University. The research study provides a sound basis for developing high school communication, collaboration and digital literacy skills. There were three primary social networking sites which utilized the above skills. The sites were Facebook, Diigo, and Google. Online learning in high school equates to lifelong learning. The research suggests that social networking engages high school learners to engage in authentic learning. It is important to develop life long learning skills where students collaborate and discuss important topics in their environment. Discussion learning allows learners to develop their social skills and impact their communities.

This website caught my attention when I was searching for a resource to describe social network learning. There were a couple of key points that were addressed on the website. The first was Personal Learning Style (PLS). I think that determining what PLS works best for a student enhances the effectiveness of the instruction. The website suggests that PLS is now being adopted by companies to enhance work performance. Since I have a hearing disability I gravitate towards visual learning so my individual learning is much different than an audio learner.
The other key point identified on the website is that social network learning should be inclusive of all generations. The instruction or social mechanism should take into consideration learner autonomy. The learning community for academics is much different than personal. However, because the two may be interrelated, the learner must adopt some control over their learning environment whether it is social academic or social personal.
