What are the fundamental, basic, non-negotiable principles upon which to base technology in schools? To name a few possibilities:

What are ways that you have had the conversation about technology in your school? And what definition of technology are you using?

 Instead of bookworms, perhaps we should call these kids “gadgetworms.” So, how can we keep them focused on our lesson when they would rather text their friends?  We can return to the very first principle of good lesson planning.

my experience has shown that if the lessons are engaging, student-centered, and appropriately presented, kids will focus and their devices will stay in their pockets.

If it is a learning lifestyle that we should be preparing our students for, and if these tools are a principle mechanism for that lifestyle, then to that degree the tools should drive the how and even what our children are learning in school.

Students were more likely than school principles, teachers and parents to say that social media tools are an important part of school technology. Parents were the least likely.

How ever you approach your PLN you must keep the key principle in mind; it needs to be Personal.

While few of the scientific offerings formally follow the scientific method or test an explicitly stated hypothesis, even those videos veering more towards demonstrating various principles, theories, and laws still offer visitors a chance to learn something about how the world around them operates. By this point, it should go without saying that many of the following videos contain procedures that may be dangerous to perform at home or without the proper equipment and/or training.
